Speedy J
Jochem George Paap (born 14 February 1969, in Rotterdam), known by his stage name Speedy J, is a Dutch electronic music producer based in Rotterdam. His breakthrough came with the release in 1992 of the minimal techno track "Pullover". He released music as part of Warp Records' ''Artificial Intelligence'' series in the 1990s, including his debut LP ''Ginger'' (1993). Career His debut album ''Ginger'' (1993) was released on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 record label in Canada, while in the UK it was part of Warp Records' ''Artificial Intelligence series'' of electronic listening music. ''G-Spot'', also on Warp, followed in 1995. He then released a live album, ''!ive,'' on his own Beam Me Up! label. Moving to label NovaMute, his work, which included ''Public Energy No.1'' (1997) and ''A Shocking Hobby'' (2000), became more experimental. He was associated with the electronic style intelligent dance music (IDM) during the 1990s, and recorded on Rephlex Records and Reflective Records. His critically acclaimed 1997 album, ''Lunatic Harness'', helped define the drill 'n' bass subgenre and was also his most successful release, selling over 100,000 copies. Paradinas founded the record label Planet Mu, begun in 1995, where he has championed genres such as juke, IDM and footwork. Anthony Child (born 1 May 1971), better known as Surgeon, is an English electronic musician and disc jockey, DJ. Child releases music on his own Record label, labels Counterbalance and Dynamic Tension.
