Surgeon (musician)
Anthony Child (born 1 May 1971), better known as Surgeon, is an English electronic musician and disc jockey, DJ. Child releases music on his own Record label, labels Counterbalance and Dynamic Tension. Established imprints, such as Tresor Records, Tresor, Soma Quality Recordings, Soma, and Harthouse, have also released Surgeon's original material and remixes. He has also been recognized as one of the first wave of DJs to use Ableton Live and Final Scratch to supplement his DJ sets. Biography Child grew up in Kislingbury, in Northamptonshire, England. In 1989, he moved to Birmingham to study audio-visual design, where he played in a jazz fusion, jazz/rock/fusion band called Blim, and learned to DJ from friend Paul Damage. At that time, there were no Techno clubs in Birmingham so he and his friends started House of God, and by 1992 he was DJing there regularly. Kislingbury
Kislingbury is a village in Northamptonshire, England, about west of Northampton town centre, and close to junctions 15A and 16 of the M1 motorway. Etymology The village's name origin is uncertain. Final Scratch
Final Scratch is a DJ tool created by the Dutch company N2IT with input from Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) and John Acquaviva that allows manipulation and playback of digital audio sources using traditional vinyl and turntables ( Vinyl emulation). It seeks to cross the divide between the versatility of digital audio and the tactile control of vinyl turntablism. Final Scratch uses special vinyl records pressed with a digital timecode, which are then played on normal turntables. The timecode signal is interpreted by a computer, connected to the turntables through an interface called the ScratchAmp. The signal represents where the stylus is on the record, in which direction it is traveling, and at what speed. This information is interpreted by the computer and used to play back a digital audio file which has been 'mapped' to the turntable. ''Breaking the Frame'' is a studio album by English record producer Anthony Child under the pseudonym Surgeon. It was released in 2011 through Dynamic Tension Records. Background ''Breaking the Frame'' is Surgeon's first studio album since ''Body Request'' (2000). Ben Sims (born May 16, 2000) is an American professional football tight end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Baylor Bears. Michael John Harris (born 4 October 1967) is an English musician from Birmingham. He was the drummer for Napalm Death between 1985 and 1991, and is credited for coining the term "grindcore".
