Boden Artillery Regiment
Boden Artillery Regiment (, A 8) is an artillery unit within the Swedish Army that operated in various forms from 1919 to 2004 and again from 2022. It is based in Boden Garrison in Boden, Sweden, Boden. History The unit was raised on 10 September 1919, by a division of the Boden-Karlsborg Artillery Regiment (A 8), where the parts placed at Karlsborg formed Karlsborg Artillery Regiment, Karlsborg Artillery Corps (A 10), and the parts placed at Boden Fortress formed Boden Artillery Regiment (A 8). On 1 July 1937, an air defense company was added to the regiment, which was later transferred to Norrland Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Luleå Anti-Aircraft Corps (Lv 7). After World War II, the idea was that the Swedish defense would be disarmed. This was stated in the Defense Committee's report of 1945, which, prior to the Defence Act of 1948, suggested, among other things, that Norrbotten Artillery Corps (A 5) should be amalgamated with Boden Artillery Regiment (A 8). Haubits FH77
() or FH77 is a Swedish 155 mm howitzer, developed and manufactured by Bofors. It is also colloquially known as the Bofors gun in India. There were several versions, the original (sometimes referred to as Haubits 77 A) with a 38 calibre barrel and Falling-block action, sliding block mechanism, the export version FH77 B version with a 39 calibre barrel and an Interrupted screw, interrupted ogival screw breech. For the demonstrator of the Archer Artillery System, some FH77A were modified into FH 77 AD L/45, while the series production were FH77Bs rebuilt into FH77 BW L/52. Artillery Regiment (2000)
The Artillery Regiment (, A 9) was an artillery regiment of the Swedish Army based in Boden Garrison in Boden, Sweden. The regiment was formed as the Artillery Regiment by bringing together all the artillery regiments of the Swedish Army, and it took its designation A 9 from the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment. The regiment carried the battle honours of all past Swedish artillery regiments. Its new organisation was founded in 2000 in Kristinehamn and in 2005 the regiment was moved to Boden. Due to the re-raising of Bergslagen Artillery Regiment (A 9) in 2022, the Artillery Regiment was renamed Boden Artillery Regiment and took the designation A 8 from the old Boden Artillery Regiment which was active from 1906 to 1997. Älvdalen
Älvdalen ( or ; literally "the river valley") is a locality and the seat of Älvdalen Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 1,810 inhabitants in 2010. Norrbotten Brigade
The Norrbotten Brigade (), or the 19th Arctic Mechanized Brigade (NMekB 19), is a Swedish Army mechanized brigade located in the county of Norrbotten, active since 2022. It was previously active from 1949 to 2000. The brigade is located at Boden Garrison with the Norrbotten Regiment. Bergslagen Artillery Regiment
The Bergslagen Artillery Regiment (), designation A 9, is a Swedish Army artillery unit which has operated in various forms from 1943 to 2000 and again from 4 December 2022 after the Swedish government decided to re-form the regiment in Kristinehamn as Bergslagen Artillery Regiment (A 9) with full operational capability reached by 2025. History The regiment was created as part of a build-up of the Swedish Army during World War II, so that Sweden's neutrality could be protected. In accordance with the Defence Act of 2000, the regiment and the other artillery regiments of the Swedish Army were amalgamated into the Artillery Regiment, in Kristinehamn, which took the A 9 designation from the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment. The Gotland Artillery Regiment (, designation A 7) was a Swedish Army artillery regiment that was in active service between 1811 and 2000. The regiment was based in Visby as part of the Gotland Garrison. The Wendes Artillery Regiment (), designation A 3, was a Swedish Army artillery regiment that traced its origins back to the 17th century. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from Scania, where it was garrisoned. The unit was disbanded as a result of the disarmament policies set forward in the Defence Act of 2000 (Sweden), Defence Act of 2000. The Defence Act of 2000 (prop. 1999/2000:30) was a defence act passed by the Swedish Riksdag on 30 March 2000, and the largest reorganisation of the Swedish Armed Forces since the Defence Act of 1925. The act was a continuation of the policies set in motion by the Defence Act of 1996: shifting the military's focus from the defence of Swedish territory to a more flexible "operational defence* (Swedish: ''insatsförsvar'') for smaller-scale peacekeeping operations in foreign nations. Life Guard Dragoons (Sweden)
The Life Guard Dragoons (), designated K 1, was a Swedish Army cavalry unit active from 1949 to 2000. The unit was formed as a squadron called the Life Guards Squadron (''Livgardesskvadronen'') in 1949, as a replacement for the previous K 1, the Life Regiment of Horse (1928–1949), Life Regiment of Horse (1928–1948). In 1975 the squadron were made into a regiment, titled the Life Guard Dragoons with Stockholm Defence District (''Livgardets dragoner med Stockholms försvarsområde'' K 1/Fo 44), redesignated the Life Guard Dragoons in 1984.
