Aminath Rasheedha
Aminath Rasheedha (born 27 February 1967) is a Maldivian actress and director. Career 1993–2006: Early releases and directorial debut In 1995, Rasheedha appeared in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' which features Hussain Sobah, Mariyam Nisha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, she plays the role Seema, a sympathetic doctor who falls in love with a blind man. Rasheedha made a brief appearance in Yoosuf Rafeeu's award-winning film '' Haqqu'' (1996) as Madheeha, a friend of Areesha who suffers from an unhappy marriage. The film starring Mariyam Nisha, Reeko Moosa Manik and Mariyam Shakeela in lead roles, received positive reviews from critics. ''Ainbehge Loabi Firiehge Vaajib'' is a 2000 Maldivian drama film directed by Amjad Ibrahim. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. She afterwards appeared in a number of romantic dramas including '' Vaaloabi Engeynama'', for which she was nominated for best supporting actress at the 2008 Gaumee Film Awards. Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974) is a Maldivian film actress. She has established a career in Maldivian Film Industry and is the recipient of several awards, one Gaumee Film Awards and two Maldivian Film Awards. She made her screen debut alongside Junaid in a music video "Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa" and featured in several films afterwards. In 2001, she gained wider recognition for the lead role in the romance '' Hiiy Edhenee''; a remake of '' Dhadkan'', followed by Abdul Fattah's '' Aan... ''Hiyy Halaaku'' (''English translation'': Heartbreak) is a 2000 Maldivian romantic drama film directed by Hussain Adil. Produced under Motion Pictures, the film stars Yoosuf Shafeeu, Niuma Mohamed and Sheela Najeeb and Niuma Mohamed in pivotal roles. The plot combines two love triangles set years apart. Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. She got married at the age of fourteen and is blessed with five daughters and one son. During her early life, Arifa was famous for stencil designing. Mariyam Shakeela is a Maldivian film actress. Career 1992–2007: Early releases After completing her education in MCS and EPS, Shakeela married to comedian Yoosuf Rafeeu who was then a producer and news presenter at Television Maldives. A week after their marriage, Rafeeu requested her to feature in a film for a replacement of an actor who opted out of the film due to personal reasons. Ali Seezan (born 6 February 1977) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, director and producer. He has established a career in Maldives Film Industry and is a recipient of two National Film Awards. Early life Ali Seezan was born on 6 February 1977. His parents Fathimath Waheeda and Abdul Rasheed are not active members of the film industry, though his father has worked in arranging stage shows for many events.
