Rihun
''Rihun'' () is a 2000 Maldivian drama film directed by Hussain Shihab. Produced by Mapa and Gulfam Films, the film stars Ismail Wajeeh, Aishath Shiranee, Fathimath Neena, Hamid Wajeeh and Aminath Rasheedha in pivotal roles. Premise Unaiz (Ismail Wajeeh) a successful post graduate, currently working at his mother's office, is sent on an official trip to a nearby island where he starts an affair with Shehenaz (Fathimath Neena). They marry despite Unaiz's workaholic mother (Aminath Rasheedha) dismisses the plan since she believes a marriage is an obstruction to a successful life. Enraged, she tries desperate attempts to separate Shehanz and Unaiz. Ismail Wajeeh
Ismail Wajeeh (20 September 1962) is a Maldivian actor and choreographer. Early life While studying in primary school, Wajeeh, along with his nephews used to perform songs and stage shows to small gatherings. While studying in grade 4, he was offered to be part of an English radio drama produced by the Voice of Maldives, titled "The Enormous Turnip". During his secondary education, he played small roles in stage dramas as an extra. In 1982, he got offered by the leading theatre performing group, Cultural and Drama Society (CDS) to be part of their group. Career In 1984, while Wajeeh was working in Television Maldives, he meets the director Mohamed Hilmy, a friend of his brother, who asked Wajeeh if he is interested to be the lead actor of his upcoming film, ''Chuttee'' (1984), to which he agrees instantly. Aishath Shiranee
Aishath Shiranee (born 16 January 1975) is a Maldivian former film actress. Shiranee is the recipient of several awards, including one Gaumee Film Award and three Aafathis Awards. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Career While working in a job at Maldives Customs Service, Shiranee made her screen debut with a video single titled "Hithaa Roohun Asaru Kuranee" alongside Ahmed Ghiyas which was followed by several other video songs before making her film debut with the film ''Naseebu'' (1992). Aminath Rasheedha
Aminath Rasheedha (born 27 February 1967) is a Maldivian actress and director. Career 1993–2006: Early releases and directorial debut In 1995, Rasheedha appeared in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' which features Hussain Sobah, Mariyam Nisha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, she plays the role Seema, a sympathetic doctor who falls in love with a blind man. Rasheedha made a brief appearance in Yoosuf Rafeeu's award-winning film '' Haqqu'' (1996) as Madheeha, a friend of Areesha who suffers from an unhappy marriage. Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first. Umar Zahir
Umar Zahir (22 November 1963) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Zahir began his career as a musician by joining several music bands in performing at resorts and events. It was then his talent was identified by music composers and producers, where he was offered to lend his voice for several of their compositions. His album series ''Hanhaara'' became a record-breaking album and its songs including "Erey Haadha Rueemey" and "Mooney Thee Hiyy Edhey" became chartbusters upon release.
