Saahibaa
''Saahibaa'' is a 2000 Maldivian romantic drama film directed by Arifa Ibrahim. Produced by Aslam Rasheed under Slam Studio, the film stars Yoosuf Shafeeu, Mariyam Nazima and Fathimath Sharumeela in pivotal roles. Premise Shahudhu (Yoosuf Shafeeu) desperately searches for options to earn money which is needed for his wife, Fiyaza's (Mariyam Nazima) heart surgery. There, he meets a wealthy businessman, Fahumee (Ali Shameel) who agrees to lend him MVR 2,000,000 on one condition; marry his only child, an 18 years old stubborn young woman, Meena (Fathimath Sharumeela). The couple marry and follows a master-slave relationship as instructed by Fahumee. One night, Shahudhu saves Meena from being gang-raped, which results in Meena realizing his honesty and becomes romantically attached to him. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. She got married at the age of fourteen and is blessed with five daughters and one son. During her early life, Arifa was famous for stencil designing. Waleedha Waleed is a Maldivian film actress, choreographer, director, seamstress and politician. Career In 1989, at the age of fourteen, Waleedha Waleed made her screen debut with a video single directed by Musthafa Hussain. She went on to feature in several other video songs and films. Waleed had most recognition for her songs included in the ''Vasmeeru'' album, which was produced by ''Television Maldives''. In an interview with ''Avas'', Waleed mentioned; "What made me go a long way in my career is the belief that people cheer me as a good dancer though I am not trained in any dance style". Fathimath Rauf
Fathimath Rauf (7 October 1959) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Fathimath Rauf was born and raised in the "Masodi family" where several local artists emerged as prominent singers. At the age of thirteen, as insisted by her father, Rauf performed a song on the stage which caught the attention of the audience. Music directors realized her potential and roped in to sing for their projects which enabled her to "rise to fame" during her career beginning. While working at Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, she joined the local band "Olympians" and became a prominent face in their stage shows. Mohamed Afrah Hassan, commonly known as Mohamed Afrah (17 January 1974 – 7 April 2019) was a Maldivian film actor and producer.
