Griparna
Griparna is a motorcycle speedway club from Nyköping in Sweden, who compete in the Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan. Their home track known as the Svanstabanan is at the Nyköpings Motorstadion which is located to the North of Nyköping. History 1949 to 1950 Griparna Speedway first competed in the Swedish league during the 1949 Swedish speedway season, which was only the second season of organised league speedway in Sweden. However, they only competed for one more season in 1950 Swedish speedway season, 1950 before dropping out of the league for over 30 years. 1984 to 1994 In 1984 Swedish speedway season, 1984, the team returned to compete in the leagues and were placed in division 2 north. The team won their first honours in 1987 Swedish speedway season, 1987 after winning the division 2 North. 1949 Swedish Speedway Season
The 1949 Swedish speedway season was the 1949 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1949 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 21 October in Stockholm. Olle Nygren won the inaugural Swedish Championship. Team Team Championship Vargarna won the league and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. The league was increased from seven teams to ten teams with the additions of Smålänningarnaa, Piraterna and GEMA Goteborg. There were also three name changes; Motorsällskapet Stockholm became Getingarna (the Wasps), Nyköping became Griparna (the Grippers) and Vendelsö became Tigrarna. The 2019 Swedish speedway season was the 2019 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Swedish Individual Speedway Championship, Individual Championship The 2019 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held at the Credentia Arena in Hallstavik on 27 July 2019. The title was won by Jacob Thorssell. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of motorcycle speedway, speedway in Sweden. History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien being introduced. The second tier of the Championship is known as the Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan. Between 1986 and 1999 the team that finished top of the league were declared champions because there was no play-off. Anton Karlsson (speedway Rider)
Anton Karlsson (born 20 July 2000) is a Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Karlsson came to prominence in 2018, when he won the silver medal at the Swedish Under 21 Championship. He also helped Sweden reach the final of the 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship. The following year in 2019 he won a bronze at the Swedish U21 event. Karlsson also competed for Sweden in the finals of the 2018 and 2020 Team Speedway Junior European Championship, Team Junior European Championship. In 2022, for the third time he helped Sweden reach the final of the 2022 Team Speedway Junior European Championship, recording a fourth-place finish and also in 2022 he rode for Griparna in the Swedish Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan. In 2023 and 2024, he signed for Västervik Speedway, Västervik in the Swedish Elitserien (speedway), Eliserien (the highest league in Sweden). References

Nyköpings Motorstadion or Svanstabanan is a motorcycle speedway track located about 4 kilometres north of the centre of Nyköping. The facility is just off the Kocksängsvägen, adjacent to the Nyköpings motorsällskap, which runs Motocross, Enduro, and motorcycle trials. The stadium hosts the Griparna speedway team that competes in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship and were the 2019 Allsvenskan champions. Kauko Nieminen
Kauko Tapio Nieminen (born 29 August 1979, in Seinäjoki) is a Finnish former speedway rider who earned 18 caps for the Finland national speedway team. Career summary Nieminen started his United Kingdom career with the Workington Comets in 2002 and was with them every season until 2008 except for 2006, when he rode for the Glasgow Tigers. In 2004, he was part of the Workington four that won the Premier League Four-Team Championship, which was held on 21 August 2004, at the Derwent Park. In 2006, he represented Finland in the 2006 Speedway World Cup. Nieminen was known by both Workington and Glasgow fans as 'The Flyin Finn' because of his racing style, which produces some high speed passing. In the 2007 season, Nieminen returned to the Workington Comets, this time as captain, and also rode for Solkatterna in Sweden and TŻ Lublin in Poland. Kenneth Hansen (speedway Rider)
Kenneth Kruse Hansen (born 19 October 1987 in Herlev, Denmark) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Hansen represented Denmark in the 2006 Under-21 Speedway World Cup in Rybnik and won a bronze medal. He started the 2007 season with the Workington Comets in the Premier League but lost his place after sustaining a broken wrist. He did however reach the final of the Danish Individual Speedway Championship in 2007. It was announced in 2008 that the Wolverhampton Wolves had signed Hansen on a full contract. He spent both the 2007 and 2008 seasons with the Midlands club before switching to Peterborough Panthers for the 2009 Elite League speedway season. He concentrated on riding in Poland for the next few years before returning to Britain to ride for the Coventry Bees in the 2014 Elite League speedway season. Individual Individual Championship The 1950 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 20 October, in Stockholm. Helge Brinkeback won the Swedish Championship. Team Team Championship Filbyterna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the second time. Piraterna won the A division of the newly created second-tier league. Saxarna won the B division and Vetlanda won the C division.
