The 2018 Swedish speedway season was the 2018 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 2018 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held at the Smedstadion in Eskilstuna on 4 August. Freddie Lindgren won the Swedish Championship. Key *points per race - 3 for a heat win, 2 for 2nd, 1 for third, 0 for last *f - fell *r - retired U21 Championship Joel Kling won the U21 championship. Team Team Championship Smederna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the fourth time. Piraterna won the Allsvenskan. Linus Eklöf (born 3 March 1989) is a Swedish former motorcycle speedway rider, who won the Team U-19 European Champion title in 2008. Västervik Speedway are a motorcycle speedway team from Västervik in Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien and are one time champions of Sweden. The team race at the Ljungheden also known as the Helja Arena. History 1966 to 1981 They were established as Skepparna and raced in division 3 during the 1966 Swedish speedway season. Elit Vetlanda Speedway
Njudungarna or Vetlanda Speedway are a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden, who compete in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. They race at the Vetlanda Motorstadion and are ten times champions of Sweden. History 1946 to 1965 The club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. The team raced as Njudungarna and first participated in the league system during the 1961 Swedish speedway season although a team called Vetlanda had raced in 1950. 1967 to 1985 They raced in the highest division of Swedish speedway for the first time in 1967, following their promotion after they won the second division in 1966. In their maiden season in the top league they finished runner-up to Getingarna, a feat they repeated again the next two seasons in 1969 and 1970. Rospiggarna is a motorcycle speedway team based in Hallstavik, Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien are five times champions of Sweden. History 1930 to 1977 The club was founded in 1930 and were named Orion, although it did not compete in the Swedish speedway leagues until 1966. The club joined the Swedish Division three in 1966 and the team name was changed to Stjärnorna (English: The Stars). They competed in the lower leagues of the Swedish league system as Stjärnorna until 1978. 1978 to 1993 In 1978, the name was changed again to Rospiggarna which is the demonym for people from Roslagen, where Hallstavik is situated. Dackarna is a motorcycle speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track since 1993 has been the Skrotfrag Arena which was the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia and is the current venue for the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien and are six times champions of Sweden. History 1935 to 1964 The team was founded in May 1935 as Målilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. The team raced at the Gamla Målilla Motorstadion but in 1956, the team rode their matches at the Växjö Motorstadion. Allsvenskan (literally, "The National League") is the second tier in the league system of Speedway in Sweden and currently comprises six motorcycle speedway teams. Until the introduction of the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien in 1982 the Allsvenskan was the highest level of Swedish Speedway. Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") () is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top eight Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Before that Allsvenskan was the highest division. Smederna is a motorcycle speedway club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The club competes in the highest speedway league in Sweden called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien and race its home matches at Smedstadion, Eskilstuna motorstadion outside Eskilstuna. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of motorcycle speedway, speedway in Sweden. History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien being introduced. The second tier of the Championship is known as the Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan.
