Cingular Wireless Premier Division
The Bermudian Premier Division (officially the Digicel Premier Division for sponsorship reasons) is the highest level of professional Association football, football in Bermuda. Teams in this league (currently ten) compete for the national title and theoretically can claim a spot in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield, although there has not yet been a Bermudian entry. The Bermudian clubs who participated in CONCACAF Champions' Cup (the predecessor to the CONCACAF Champions League), qualified in the North American Football Union, North American zone (when zone qualifiers were used), last appearing in 1992. The bottom two teams at the end of each season are relegated to the Bermuda First Division, First Division. North Village Rams is a Bermudian football club based in Pembroke Parish who participate in the Bermudian Premier Division. History The club, also named ''North Village Community Club'', has won the Bermudian league title eight times. On 17 July 2013 the club signed a development partnership contract with Scottish side Rangers. The club was coached by Ralph Bean Jr. and as assistant coach worked the former Bermuda national team captain Stephen Coddington. The 2012–13 Bermudian Premier Division is the 50th season of the highest competitive football league in Bermuda, which was founded in 1963. Overview The competition started in October 2012 and finished in March 2013. Dandy Town Hornets were the defending champions, having won their sixth league championship the season before. Vasco da Gama Club is a private members' community club based in Bermuda. It currently forms part of the Bermuda Football Association, competing in its First Division League, the second tier of Bermuda football. The team has historically had Portuguese players, but more recently has seen many English and Bermudian players on the club. Southampton Parish, Bermuda
Southampton Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named for Henry Wriothesley, 3rd Earl of Southampton (1573-1624). It is located in the southwest of the island chain, occupying all of the western part of the main island, except for the westernmost tip (which is part of Sandys Parish). Sandys Parish ( "sands") is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named for English aristocrat Sir Edwin Sandys (1561–1629), and hence there is no apostrophe in the name. It is located in the south west of the island chain, occupying the three islands of Ireland Island, Boaz Island, and the larger Somerset Island, as well as a small part of the main island of Bermuda.
