Iraqi Second Division League
The Iraqi Second Division League is a Association football, football league that is the fourth tier of the Iraqi football league system. The league was founded in 1974, and consists of 20 teams split into two groups in the first stage. The top four teams in each group qualify for the second stage, where they are split into two further groups. The two group winners in the second stage are promoted directly to the Iraqi First Division League, while the two bottom teams in the first stage are relegated to the Iraqi Third Division League. In the 2023–24 Iraqi Second Division League, 2023–24 season, Al-Jaish SC (Iraq), Al-Jaish won the championship title after defeating Al-Falluja SC, Al-Falluja 4–2 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the final match. Iraqi Premier Division League
The Iraqi Premier Division League () is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 20 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. The two lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the First Division League. From the 2023–24 season, the competition's name was changed from First Division League to Premier Division League. The Iraq Cup (), commonly known as the Iraq FA Cup, is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic Football in Iraq, Iraqi football organised by the Iraq Football Association. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions, it returned in the 1975–76 season as a clubs-only competition. The tournament usually begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraq Stars League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. The winners of the competition are awarded a place in the next season's AFC Champions League Two group stage. The 1982–83 Iraq FA Cup was the seventh edition of the Iraq FA Cup as a club competition. The tournament was won by Al-Jaish for the second time, beating Al-Shabab 2–1 in the final, with Hassan Farhan and Sadiq Ghanim scoring for Al-Jaish and Falah Hassan scoring for Al-Shabab. The quarter-finals saw Al-Tayaran (now known as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya) beat Al-Zawraa 2–1 in a Baghdad Derby on 5 January 1983 with Khalid Fadhel and Hanoon Mashkoor scoring for Al-Tayaran and Thamir Yousef scoring for Al-Zawraa, before Al-Tayaran were knocked out by Al-Shabab in the semi-final 4–2 on penalties. The Arab Club Champions Cup (, ) is a club football competition organised by the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) and contested by top clubs from the Arab world. The tournament is contested by a total of 37 teams from Asia and Africa. Falah Hassan
Falah Hassan Jassim (, born 1 July 1951) is an Iraqi former international football player, and current president of Al-Zawraa Sport Club in Baghdad. He played as a forward. Early life Falah Hassan was born in 1951 in the village of Mimouna, in a district of Qal'at Saleh. His father was a farmer and after the 1958 Revolution, his family moved to Al-Thawra (now Al-Sadr) in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, taking advantage of the new government's initiative in building low cost housing for families wanting to move to Baghdad, it was there he first played the game on the streets of the city. During the 1970s, Falah Hassan was seen as one of the greatest players in Asia, and was offered lucrative contracts to play professionally abroad, in 1978 he received two offers one from Belgium and the other from the Emirates.
