2024 Rwanda Basketball Cup
The 2024 Rwanda Basketball Cup was the inaugural season of the Rwanda Basketball Cup, the cup competition for men's teams in Rwanda. It is organised by FERWABA, the national basketball association. The first games were played on 26 April 2024, while the playoffs began on 9 July 2024, and ended end on 9 August 2024. The first season consisted of 21 teams from the Rwanda Basketball League as well as the Rwanda Basketball League Division 2. The first four teams from the 2023 RBL season received direct qualification for the quarterfinals, while the other teams entered the group phase. APR won the inaugural cup title after defeating REG in the final. The winners qualified for the inaugural Rwanda Basketball Supercup, which will be held later in the year. The winners were also eligible for the East Africa Cup, a FIBA-organised competition that is yet to be announced. William Kiah Perry (born October 11, 1994) is an American professional basketball player. Standing at 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in), Perry plays as point guard. Ntore Habimana
Ntore Habimana (born August 15, 1997) is a Canadian-born Rwandan basketball player for the APR of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). He is a member of the Rwanda national team. His position has been described as a point forward. Early life Habimana was born in Mississauga, Ontario to a Rwandan father and Burundian mother, who had moved to Canada in 1994. Guibert Nijimbere
Joe Guibert Nijimbere (born 26 December 1996) is a Burundian basketball player for Kepler and the Burundi national basketball team. Early life Nijimbere was born on 26 December 1996 in Mutanga-Nord, a suburb of Bujumbura, the largest city in the country. He was the second of 9 children. Aristide Mugabe
Aristide Mugabe (born 11 February 1988) is a Rwandan professional basketball player and assistant coach for Kepler of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). He played 11 years for the Rwanda national team during his career. He is widely regarded as one of the best players in Rwandan basketball history. Dieudonné Ndayisaba Ndizeye (born 14 October 1996) is a Rwandan basketball player for REG of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) and the Rwanda national team. He is a three-time RBL champion and a one-time league MVP winner in 2019. Ndizeye has played two seasons in the BAL as well with REG. Kepler Basketball Club is a Rwandan professional basketball team based in Kigali that is managed by the non-profit educational institution Kepler. Their men's team plays in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) since the 2024 season.
