2023–24 PLK Season
The 2023–24 Polish Basketball League (PLK) season, the Orlen Basket Liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 90th season of the Polish Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Poland. Wilki Morskie Szczecin were the defending champions. Teams 16 teams will participate this season. Dziki Warsaw was promoted from Liga I and Astoria Bydgoszcz was relegated. The 2022–23 Polish Basketball League (PLK) season, the Energa Basket Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the 89th season of the Polish Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in Poland. Śląsk Wrocław are the defending champions. Teams 16 teams will participate this season. HydroTruck Radom was relegated and Sokół Łańcut will be promoted from Liga I. Twarde Pierniki Toruń is a Polish professional basketball team based in Toruń. The team currently plays in the Polish Basketball League (PLK). The club has won Polish Cup and Polish Supercup titles in 2018. Currently the team plays under the name Arriva Polski Cukier Toruń due to sponsorship commitments. History Twarde Pierniki was founded in 2004. Toruń was offered a spot in the 2014–15 PLK season as a wild card because of the expansion from 12 to 16 teams. Czarni Słupsk
Czarni Słupsk, more commonly known as Icon Sea Czarni Słupsk because of sponsorship reasons, is a Polish basketball team, based in Słupsk, playing in Polish Basketball League (PLK). The home arena of the club was Hala Gryfia. History In July 1945, the original Czarni Słupsk team was formed, by railway workers who moved from Kraków to Słupsk after World War II. The club was originated as an association football club, but in 1989 the basketball section was founded. In the 1998–99 season, the team promoted to the Polish Basketball League (PLK). In the 2005–06 season, the first club honour was one: the bronze medal. In the 2010s Czarni Słupsk was a steady competitor in the PLK, with several Playoff appearances. Astoria Bydgoszcz, also known as simply Astoria, is a Polish multi-sports club most known for the professional men's basketball team, based in Bydgoszcz. Dziki Warsaw
Dziki Warszawa (in English: Dziki Warsaw) is a Polish men's basketball club, based in Warsaw. The team currently plays in the PLK, the Polish first division. The club was established in 2017 on the basis of another basketball club MKS Ochota Warszawa. History Dziki were founded quite recently, in 2017, on the basis of the 3rd league MKS MOS Ochota. In the first season in the 2nd league, the team fought to stay in the league. A year later, they advanced to the playoff phase, and in 2020, they took first place in the competition and gained promotion to the Suzuki 1st league.
