116th Mechanized Brigade
The 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade () is a brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. History The brigade has fought in Huliaipole, Robotyne and Avdiivka. Five members of the brigade were killed in action on 2 August 2023 as part of assault operations in Polohy Raion of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. On 17 August 2023, the brigade was visited by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy while it was fighting near Robotyne. The brigade fought on the Avdiivka front in late 2023. In November 2023, it was reported that elements of the 116th Brigade were involved in combat on the Marinka front. As of June 2024, units of the 116th Mechanized Brigade were involved in combat at Vovchansk. In December 2024, the brigade was on the Pokrovsk front. AS-90
The AS-90 ("Artillery System for the 1990s"), known officially as Gun Equipment 155 mm L131, is an armoured self-propelled artillery formerly used by the British Army and subsequently donated for use by Ukrainian Army. It can fire standard charges up to using 39-calibre long barrel and with 52-calibre long barrel. The 2S1 ''Gvozdika'' (, "Dianthus caryophyllus, Carnation") is a Soviet Self-propelled artillery, self-propelled howitzer introduced in 1972 and is in service in Russia and other countries . It is based on the MT-LBu multi-purpose chassis, mounting a 122 mm howitzer 2A18 (D-30), 122 mm 2A18 howitzer. "2S1" is its GRAU designation.
