Örnarna
Örnarna () is a motorcycle speedway team from Mariestad in Sweden, representing Mariestads MK, who compete in the Allsvenskan. Their home track is at the Grevby Motorstadion which is located to the north of Mariestad. History 1949–1969 Örnarna was founded in 1949. The club's debut season in the Swedish league was during the 1950 season, where they competed in division 2B. However, the club did not compete for the next seven years. When they returned for the 1958 Swedish speedway season they won their first honours after finishing top of division 2. The club remained in division 2 and repeated the success in 1963, which resulted to promotion to the highest division for the first time. The club signed Bengt Svensson and Per-Tage Svensson but struggled in division 1, before being relegated in 1967. Swedish Speedway Team Championship
The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of motorcycle speedway, speedway in Sweden. History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien being introduced. The second tier of the Championship is known as the Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan. Between 1986 and 1999 the team that finished top of the league were declared champions because there was no play-off. The 1992 Swedish speedway season was the 1992 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1992 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held in Mariestad on 6 September. John Cook won the Swedish Championship. Cook became the first and only rider in the history of the event to win the title as a non-Swedish rider. He qualified for the competition due to his residence being in Sweden. U21 Championship Mikael Karlsson won the U21 championship. Team Team Championship Örnarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the first time in their history. U21 Championship Niklas Klingberg won the U21 championship. Team Team Championship Örnarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the second successive year. The Örnarna team included Kelvin Tatum, Peter Karlsson, Christer Rohlén, Mikael Karlsson and Niklas Klingberg. Skepparna changed their name to Västervik. The 2010 Swedish speedway season was the 2010 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 2010 Swedish Individual Championship final was held at the G&B Arena in Målilla, Kalmar County. The title was won by the defending champion Andreas Jonsson, who beat Freddie Lindgren, Magnus Zetterström and Thomas H. Jonasson in the final heat. The top three riders all rode in the 2010 Speedway Grand Prix. The 1958 Swedish speedway season was the 1958 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1958 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 3 October in Stockholm. Rune Sörmander won the Swedish Championship for the second time. Junior Championship The 1958 season saw the introduction of the first edition of the Junior Championship. The event was won by Agnar Stenlund. Team Team Championship Dackarna won division 1 for the second consecutive season and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. The team retained the 1957 Championship winning rider and Swedish champion Rune Sörmander. The league increased to two divisions and ten teams following the admission of Örnarna and Folkare and the addition of two B sides in Filbyterna and Dackarna. Örnarna won the second division.
