Giuseppe Tominz was born in

as the second of eleven children of Ivano Tominz, a dealer in ironware, and his wife Maria Anna ( Gioacchini) of

He also painted religious scenes in the style of the Nazarenes or after Raphael and Pierre Mignard. In 1855 he returned to Gorizia and then went to
