Evasion (network Security)
In network security, evasion is bypassing an information security defense in order to deliver an exploit, attack, or other form of malware to a target network or system, without detection. Evasions are typically used to counter network-based intrusion detection and prevention systems (IPS, IDS) but can also be used to by-pass firewalls and defeat malware analysis. A further target of evasions can be to crash a network security defense, rendering it in-effective to subsequent targeted attacks. Description Evasions can be particularly nasty because a well-planned and implemented evasion can enable full sessions to be carried forth in packets that evade an IDS. Attacks carried in such sessions will happen right under the nose of the network and service administrators. The security systems are rendered ineffective against well-designed evasion techniques, in the same way a stealth fighter can attack without detection by radar and other defensive systems. A good analogy to evasions is ...

3M Bookshelf Game Series
The 3M bookshelf game series is a set of strategy and economic games published in the 1960s and early 1970s by 3M Corporation. The games were packaged in leatherette-look large hardback book size boxes in contrast to the prevalent wide, flat game boxes. The series grew to encompass over three dozen games. Most were multi-player board games or card games; a few were trivia games or two-handed board games. ''Acquire'' and ''TwixT'' were among the best-selling titles. The series later became part of the Avalon Hill Bookcase games. Very few of these games are still being published. The line consisted of republished classics such as Go, chess and backgammon as well as original games. The Bookshelf games were originally in large boxes (8.5"x12"x2.25"); later, a series in smaller boxes called "gamettes" was introduced. The early ones were packaged in a different shape box called a "butterbox". History In 1962, 3M commissioned game designers Alex Randolph and Sid Sackson to design t ...

Survival, Evasion, Resistance And Escape
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) is a training program, best known by its military acronym, that prepares U.S. military personnel, U.S. Department of Defense civilians, and private military contractors to survive and "return with honor" in survival scenarios. The curriculum includes survival skills, evading capture, application of the military code of conduct, and techniques for escape from captivity. Formally established by the U.S. Air Force at the end of World War II and the start of the Cold War, it was extended to the Navy and United States Marine Corps and consolidated within the Air Force during the Korean War with greater focus on "resistance training." During the Vietnam War (1959–1975), there was clear need for "Jungle" survival training and greater public focus on American POWs. As a result, the U.S. military expanded SERE programs and training sites. In the late 1980s, the U.S. Army became more involved with SERE as Special Forces and "Spec ...

First-person Shooter
First-person shooter (FPS) is a sub-genre of shooter video games centered on gun and other weapon-based combat in a first-person perspective, with the player experiencing the action through the eyes of the protagonist and controlling the player character in a three-dimensional space. The genre shares common traits with other shooter games, and in turn falls under the action game genre. Since the genre's inception, advanced 3D and pseudo-3D graphics have challenged hardware development, and multiplayer gaming has been integral. The first-person shooter genre has been traced back to '' Wolfenstein 3D'' (1992), which has been credited with creating the genre's basic archetype upon which subsequent titles were based. One such title, and the progenitor of the genre's wider mainstream acceptance and popularity, was '' Doom'' (1993), often considered the most influential game in this genre; for some years, the term ''Doom'' clone was used to designate this genre due to ''Doom''s ...

Citroën Evasion
The Eurovans are a family of passenger automobiles from the Citroën, Peugeot, Fiat and Lancia marques that were produced at the jointly owned Sevel Nord factory in France. The term ''Eurovan'' was not used by the brands themselves in sales literature, but rather by the motoring press to refer to the vans collectively. It was launched in March 1994, and production ceased in November 2010 for the Fiat and Lancia models, and in June 2014 for the Citroën and Peugeot siblings. They are considered to be large MPVs. The Eurovans differ little technically and visually, being a prime example of badge engineering. They share mechanicals and body structure with the Sevel Nord light commercial vans, the Citroën Jumpy (Dispatch), Fiat Scudo and Peugeot Expert. The first generation Eurovans were marketed as the Citroën Evasion (Citroën Synergie in the UK), Fiat Ulysse, Lancia Zeta and Peugeot 806. The second generation models were all renamed, except the Fiat Ulysse, with the nameplate ...

Évadé
''Évadés'' ( French; or 'the escaped', sometimes nl, ontsnapten), often referred to in France as the évadés de France () to distinguish them from escaped prisoners of war, were French and Belgian nationals who attempted to escape from German-occupied Europe to reach the United Kingdom or other Allied territories in World War II. Many attempted to cross the French border into Spain with the help of paid intermediaries (''passeurs'') or local sympathisers in an attempt to reach Portugal or Gibraltar Colony where it was possible to arrange transport to the United Kingdom with Allied help. A smaller number instead travelled to Sweden or Switzerland, and a small number of French ''évadés'' instead sought to travel through the Soviet Union. Many were detained by local police as they crossed illegally through the ''zone libre'' in Vichy France and were sometimes forced to enlist with Vichy's Foreign Legion in French North Africa or the work camps run by the '' Chantiers de ...

Evasi0n
Evasi0n, (stylized as "evasi0n"), is a untethered jailbreak program for iOS 6.0 - 6.1.2 and for iOS 7.0 - 7.0.6 (with evasi0n7). It is known for a portable code base and minimal use of arbitrary code execution. More than seven million copies of Evasi0n were downloaded and presumably installed in the first four days after release. It was released on 4 February 2013. Four of the six exploits used were patched by Apple on 18 March 2013 with the release of iOS 6.1.3, which meant the end of the original version of evasi0n. On 22 December 2013, the evad3rs released a new version of evasi0n that supports iOS 7.x, known as evasi0n7. One major exploit used by this jailbreak was patched by Apple with the 4th beta of iOS 7.1 and two more with beta 5. The final release of iOS 7.1 fixed all the exploits used by evasi0n7. The evasi0n jailbreak first remounts the root file system as read-write and then achieves persistence by editing the /etc/launchd.conf file, which launchd consults. Evasi0n t ...
