Zhang Xi (volleyball)
Zhang Xi (simplified Chinese: 张希; traditional Chinese: 張希; pinyin: Zhāng Xī; born 19 April 1985) is a Chinese beach volleyball player. She won the bronze medal in the women's team competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the gold medal at the 2013 Beach Volleyball World Championships, partnering with Xue Chen. In 2004, she moved on to start playing full-time in the Swatch FIVB World Tour. In 2006, she began to team up with Xue Chen in the SWATCH tournament season. After finishing the tournament she went back to study at the Physical Education Unit of Jiangsu Province in China. In 2008, Zhang was named as the FIVB Most Outstanding Player. The duo of Zhang and Xue won a gold medal from the FIVB World Tour Women's Final in Åland, Finland on 21 August 2010. On the same day, they broke the winning streak of Brazil's França–Silva duo. FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings
The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in beach volleyball. The teams of the member nations of the FIVB, beach volleyball and volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their competition results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. The ranking is based on the 8 best results over the last 365 days. They are updated every Monday after an FIVB recognized event. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Larissa França Maestrini (born April 14, 1982) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player. She is the all-time leader of beach volleyball titles, with 57 FIVB career gold medals, including the 2011 Beach Volleyball World Championships with Juliana Felisberta and the 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour with Talita Antunes. She was inducted to the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2023. Career With Felisberta, França won two Pan American Games titles (in 2007 and 2011) and the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (known between 2003 and 2012 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the worldwide professional beach volleyball tour for both men and women organized by the ' (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The World Tour was introduced 1989 for men and in 1992 for women being held yearly since then until 2021 when it was replaced by the new Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Xue Chen
Xue Chen (; born 18 February 1989) is a Chinese beach volleyball player. A 4-time Olympian, she won the bronze medal alongside Zhang Xi at the women's beach volleyball tournament of the 2008 Summer Olympics. In 2013, she won the gold medal also with Zhang at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, the first and only Asian team to do so. Her hometown is Fuzhou, but she trains in Sanya, Hainan.
