Xīnhuá Zìdiǎn
The ''Xinhua Zidian'' (), also as ''Xinhua Dictionary'', is a Chinese-language dictionary published by the Commercial Press. The first edition of ''Xinhua Zidian'' was published in 1957. The latest version is the 12th edition, which was published in August 2020. It is the best-selling Chinese dictionary and the world's most popular reference work. In 2016, Guinness World Records officially confirmed that the dictionary, published by The Commercial Press, is the "Most popular dictionary" and the "Best-selling book (regularly updated)". It is considered a symbol of Chinese culture. This pocket-sized dictionary of Chinese characters uses simplified Chinese characters and pinyin romanization. The most recent ''Xinhua Zidian'' edition (the 12th) contains 3,300 compounds and includes over 13,000 logograms, including traditional Chinese characters and variant Chinese characters. Commercial Press
The Commercial Press () is the first modern publishing organization in China. The Commercial Press is known for its academic publishing and translation work in humanities and social sciences, as well as the '' Xinhua Dictionary''. History In 1897, 26-year-old Xia Ruifang and three of his friends (including the Bao brothers Bao Xian'en and Bao Xianchang) founded The Commercial Press in Shanghai. All four were Protestant Christians who received their training at the American Presbyterian Mission Press. The group soon received financial backing and began publishing books such as Bibles. Guobiao Standards
The National Standards of the People's Republic of China (), coded as , are the standards issued by the Standardization Administration of China under the authorization of Article 10 of the Standardization Law of the People's Republic of China. According to Article 2 of the Standardization Law, national standards are divided into mandatory national standards and recommended national standards. Mandatory national standards are prefixed "GB". Recommended national standards are prefixed "". Guidance technical documents are prefixed with "GB/Z", but are not legally part of the national standard system. ''Xinwen Lianbo'' () is a Chinese daily news television programme produced by state-owned television broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV). It is shown simultaneously by all local TV stations in mainland China, making it one of the world's most-watched programmes. It has been broadcast since 1 January 1978. Li Ruiying (; born 16 July 1961) is a Chinese media personality and politician, best known for being the long-time anchor of the China Central Television (CCTV) program ''Xinwen Lianbo''. Li is the vice-president of China Association of Radio and Television and China Hosts Association, and the Chairman of the Broadcast, CCTV. Li was a delegate to the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and the All-China Youth Federation, and a member of the 9th, 10th, 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Hanyu Da Cidian
The ''Hanyu Da Cidian'' (), also known as the Grand Chinese Dictionary, is the most inclusive available Chinese dictionary. Lexicographically comparable to the ''Oxford English Dictionary'', it has Historical linguistics, diachronic coverage of the Chinese language, and traces usage over three millennia from Chinese classic texts to modern slang. The chief editor Luo Zhufeng (1911–1996), along with a team of over 300 scholars and lexicographers, started the enormous task of compilation in 1979. Publication of the thirteen volumes began with first volume in 1986 and ended with the appendix and index volume in 1994. In 1994, the dictionary also won the National Book Award of China.
