XECHAP-AM
XECHAP-AM is a radio station in Chapingo, State of Mexico, Mexico and is the radio station of the Chapingo Autonomous University. It broadcasts on 1130 AM from studios on the university campus. History The first radio station associated with the university broadcast unofficially in the 1930s, when it was the National School of Agriculture (ENA); another, "Radio 6.6 Chapinguito", broadcast from the university in the 1950s under the auspices of professor Hebert del Valle. More broadcasting efforts were discussed in the late 1970s and 1980s, but it would not be until 1989 that a group acquired a 30-watt transmitter and started the modern Radio Chapingo. The station, known then unofficially as "XEUACH", was followed next year by the first proposal for a regional radio station with coverage beyond the university campus, but lack of space posed difficulties for the project. The State of Mexico, officially just Mexico, is one of the 32 federal entities of the United Mexican States. XHXI-FM
XHXI-FM is a radio station on 99.5 FM in Ixtapan de la Sal, State of Mexico, Mexico. XHXI-FM is owned by Capital Media and is known as Lokura FM with a grupera format. History XEXI-AM, operating at 1400 kHz, received its concession on July 17, 1972. It operated with 250 watts and was owned by Ruben Marín y Kall. In 1978, Graciela Barrera y de la Garza bought XEXI, and by the 1980s, its power was 1 kW. For many years, it was known as "La I de Ixtapan". In 2015, the station was transferred to Capital Media. On June 20, 2018, the IFT approved the migration of XEXI-AM to FM, under the 2008 AM-FM migration decree, as XHXI-FM on 99.5 MHz. XHXI signed on September 3, 2018. XHNEZ-FM
XHNEZ-FM is a community radio station broadcasting to Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico on 97.3 FM. It is known as En Neza Radio and owned and operated by concessionaire Voces Urbanas, Movimiento Alternativo de Información Social (''Urban Voices, Alternative Social Information Movement''). History En Neza Radio has been operating in some or other form since 1996, with the goal of improving Neza's poor image in the media. In 2012, Voces Urbanas applied to Cofetel for a radio station permit; it was the second request the group had made, after an unfruitful 2004 application to the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation. In 2015, their application was denied by the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), which had replaced Cofetel. Voces Urbanas filed an '' amparo'' lawsuit against the IFT, which ended with a favorable ruling for the station. XHECA-FM
XHECA-FM is a community radio station in Amecameca, State of Mexico, broadcasting on 97.3 FM. The station's concession is held by La Voladora Comunicación, A.C., and the station is known as La Voladora. XHECA is a member of AMARC México. History The 1999 UNAM strike sowed the seeds for a number of community radio stations across Mexico, including La Voladora, as well as XHCD-FM in Hermosillo. During the strike, students operated a radio station known as "La Ke Huelga". Several people involved with that station, and with other similar projects, banded together to form a new station project known as La Voladora ("The Flyer"). Initially conceived as being a moving, 20-watt FM radio station that would visit rural areas. As part of that project, La Voladora set up shop in Amecameca on October 27, 2000, on 102.1 MHz, without a permit to operate. XHLUV-FM is a community radio station in Luvianos, State of Mexico. Broadcasting on 96.5 FM, XHLUV is owned by La Calentana Luvimex, A.C. History "Calentana Mexiquense" was founded by Indalecio Benítez Mondragón, beginning operations on November 20, 2013. The station, which was unauthorized and did not hold a permit, broadcast on 98.1 MHz with a 20-watt transmitter. On August 1, 2014, Calentana Mexiquense was attacked by a gunman who fired several shots into the studios, located in the Benítez family home; Benítez's 12-year-old child, Juan Diego, was shot and killed in the attack. Indalecio and his family moved to Mexico City in the wake of the attack, and two months later, they began the process of applying for a concession.
