Wei Huangnu
Wei Shaozhen (; August 2, 1918 – December 9, 2006) better known by his pen name Wei Huangnu (), was a Chinese translator and professor. He was among the first few in China who translated the works of Nikolay Nekrasov's into Chinese language. Early life Wei was born as Shao Zhen in Wuji County, Hebei, China on August 2, 1918. Education During his early years, Wei learned Esperanto by himself. Wei graduated from Zunyi Foreign Studies College () in 1940, where he majored in Russian language. Career In 1938, Wei started to public sh his wo ks. Wei worked in ''Fenglin Literature and Art'' () and ''Poetry and Literature'' () as the chief editor. Wei joined the China Writers Association in 1949. After the founding of the Communist State, Wei became a professor at Peking University. He died in 2006. Chinese Translation Association
The Translators Association of China (TAC) () is a national association for translation studies in China. Founded in the 1980s TAC was part of the academic response to the national Economic Reform in 1978. The incumbent President of TAC's 6th Executive Committee is the former Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who in the meantime chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee of China. TAC routinely hosts annual national symposium on varied topics related to translation and interpretation theories and practices. To facilitate the academic communication, it publishes bi-monthly periodical '' Chinese Translators Journal'' since 1983. In addition, the Association regulates the domestic translation service market through its Translation Service Committee, which was set up in 2003, in order to promote ethical business practices. The China Writers Association (CWA) is a subordinate people's organization of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC). Founded in July 1949, the organization was initially named the China National Literature Workers Association. In September 1953, it was renamed the Chinese Writers Association. In April 2012, the organization changed its translated name to China Writers Association. It now has more than 9,000 registered members, with branch associations across the nation.
