WVRX
WVRX (104.9 FM) is a Southern Gospel formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Strasburg, Virginia, serving the Northern Shenandoah Valley. WVRX is owned by Point FM Ministries. WVRX simulcasts sister station WVRS. History On January 31, 2018, the then-WZFC changed their format from classic country to a simulcast of sister news/talk station WINC (1400 AM) in nearby Winchester. On November 17, 2020, both WZFC and sister station WXBN (105.5 FM) became a simulcast of WINC-FM (92.5 FM) and its hot adult contemporary format. WINC-FM's programming was migrated to the two stations in anticipation of the sale of the 92.5 FM signal to the Educational Media Foundation. Upon the sale of the 92.5 FM signal to EMF, Centennial transferred the WINC-FM call letters to 105.5 FM. WINC-FM (105.5 FM) is a radio station licensed to Berryville, Virginia, serving the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The station is currently stunting with Christmas music. WINC-FM is owned by Metro Radio, Inc. History In November 2020, the then-WXBN flipped to hot adult contemporary, assuming the hot adult contemporary format and "WINC-FM" (pronounced "Wink FM") branding previously heard on the Winchester-based 92.5 frequency (which was in the process of being sold to the Educational Media Foundation). WVRS is a Southern Gospel formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Gore, Virginia, serving Western Frederick County, Virginia and Eastern Hampshire County, West Virginia. WVRS is owned and operated by Point FM Ministries, Inc. History and Sales On February 7, 2014, Winchester-based Timber Ridge Ministries filed to purchase WVRS from Liberty University for $30,000. The sale was closed on July 3, 2014. On July 7, 2014, WVRS began simulcasting Timber Ridge-owned and Southern Gospel-formatted WTCF. At Midnight on August 1, the simulcast of WVRS and WTCF ended. The Southern Gospel format remained on WVRS, with K-LOVE programming beginning on WTCF.
