The Next Restaurant
''The Next Restaurant'' ( he, המסעדה הבאה) is a reality television show originating from Israel's channel 13, and created by Ami Glam and Yuval Cohen, whose rights has been acquired by Freemantle. The format features ten weekly competitions between four contestants, in which the winner then runs a pop-up restaurant for a week with real diners from the public. The pop-up restaurants are scored by the show's judges, restaurant critics, diners, and the investors who will back the resulting winner of the show. During the "live portion" of the show, restaurants are eliminated based on these scores and two restaurants are chosen for the finale showdown. The winner of the show becomes the chef of the restaurant that is then opened to the public on a regular basis. Moshik Roth
Moshe Aharon "Moshik" Roth ( he, משה אהרון "מושיק" רוט; born 12 December 1971) is an Israeli celebrity chef. He was head chef of restaurant &Moshik in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which held two Michelin stars. Biography Born in 1971 in Haifa, Israel; to a family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, Russian-Jewish father and a Romanian-Jewish mother, Roth was raised in Eilat and afterwards in Yavne. After completing his military service in the IDF, he went to Eilat, intending to learn hotel management and met his future wife Els. Assaf Granit
Assaf Elkanna Granit ( he, אסף גרניט; born 20 August 1978) is an Israeli chef and owner of the Parisian restaurant Shabour. In January 2021, Granit was awarded a Michelin star for his Shabour restaurant. It is the first Michelin star awarded to an Israeli restaurant in France. Biography Granit was born in the Rasco neighborhood of Jerusalem. His parents were native-born Israelis of Polish Jewish descent who Hebraized their surname "Guterman". He grew up in the Nayot neighborhood and attended the Denmark High School in his hometown, where he earned the nickname "Buffalo" which sticks with him to this day. Yonatan Roshfeld
Yonatan Roshfeld ( he, יונתן רושפלד, born 10 January 1969) is an Israeli chef known for his work on television. He was a judge on the television cooking competition ''MasterChef Israel'' from the second season to the sixth. He opened the Captain Curry Indian food stall in Sarona Market. He was the food critic in the first Israeli season of '' The Next Restaurant'' TV show. He became a partner in the Cafeteria restaurant in the Gindi TLV compound in Tel Aviv and opened a delicatessen in Ramat Gan. He is perhaps best known as the chef of the Herbert Samuel restaurant in Tel Aviv, which later closed and kosher venues with the same name were opened in other places. It was one of the two concessionaires running the Israeli commercial television channel, Channel 2 from 1993 to 2017, and is running channel 13 alongside RGE media group at the present.
