Assaf Granit
Assaf Elkanna Granit ( he, אסף גרניט; born 20 August 1978) is an Israeli chef and owner of the Parisian restaurant Shabour. In January 2021, Granit was awarded a Michelin star for his Shabour restaurant. It is the first Michelin star awarded to an Israeli restaurant in France. Biography Granit was born in the Rasco neighborhood of Jerusalem. His parents were native-born Israelis of Polish Jewish descent who Hebraized their surname "Guterman". He grew up in the Nayot neighborhood and attended the Denmark High School in his hometown, where he earned the nickname "Buffalo" which sticks with him to this day. Granit initially served in the army as a combat soldier in the paratroopers brigade. After sustaining an injury during training, he was reassigned to serve as a medic instructor. ''The Next Restaurant'' ( he, המסעדה הבאה) is a reality television show originating from Israel's channel 13, and created by Ami Glam and Yuval Cohen, whose rights has been acquired by Freemantle. The format features ten weekly competitions between four contestants, in which the winner then runs a pop-up restaurant for a week with real diners from the public. The pop-up restaurants are scored by the show's judges, restaurant critics, diners, and the investors who will back the resulting winner of the show. During the "live portion" of the show, restaurants are eliminated based on these scores and two restaurants are chosen for the finale showdown. The winner of the show becomes the chef of the restaurant that is then opened to the public on a regular basis. Moshe Aharon "Moshik" Roth ( he, משה אהרון "מושיק" רוט; born 12 December 1971) is an Israeli celebrity chef. He was head chef of restaurant &Moshik in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which held two Michelin stars.
