Moshik Roth
Moshe Aharon "Moshik" Roth ( he, משה אהרון "מושיק" רוט; born 12 December 1971) is an Israeli celebrity chef. He was head chef of restaurant &Moshik in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which held two Michelin stars. Biography Born in 1971 in Haifa, Israel; to a family of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, Russian-Jewish father and a Romanian-Jewish mother, Roth was raised in Eilat and afterwards in Yavne. After completing his military service in the IDF, he went to Eilat, intending to learn hotel management and met his future wife Els. When he was 23, Els went back to her homeland in the Netherlands and Roth followed her there. His first job was as pizzeria manager. After a while he studied in Jonnie Boer's restaurant - De Librije, from there he continued to apprentice in the Zwethheul restaurant, near Rotterdam and afterwards he opened his own restaurant 't Brouwerskolkje, where he was the chef, and his wife was the sommelier. De Librije
De Librije () is a restaurant in Zwolle, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that has been awarded one or more Michelin stars since 1993. It carried one star in the period 1993–1998, two stars in the period 1999-2003 and three stars since 2004. In 2007 and 2008, the restaurant received a score of 19.5 and became Restaurant of the Year in the Dutch edition of Gault Millau. The restaurant was formerly located in the old library of a 15th-century Dominican abbey, hence the name "De Librije". In 2015, the establishment moved to replace its secondary location on the other side of the Thorbeckegracht which housed the "Librije's Zusje" (Librijes little sister) as part of the "Librije's Hotel". The chef de cuisine is Jonnie Boer and his wife Thérèse Boer-Tausch is maître and sommelier. The couple, who both already worked in the restaurant, bought the establishment in 1992. ''The Next Restaurant'' ( he, המסעדה הבאה) is a reality television show originating from Israel's channel 13, and created by Ami Glam and Yuval Cohen, whose rights has been acquired by Freemantle. The format features ten weekly competitions between four contestants, in which the winner then runs a pop-up restaurant for a week with real diners from the public. The pop-up restaurants are scored by the show's judges, restaurant critics, diners, and the investors who will back the resulting winner of the show. During the "live portion" of the show, restaurants are eliminated based on these scores and two restaurants are chosen for the finale showdown. The winner of the show becomes the chef of the restaurant that is then opened to the public on a regular basis.
