The Gray In Between is the fourth album by the American emo band Jeromes Dream. It was released in 2023 by Iodine Recordings. Reception ''The Gray In Between'' received positive reviews from critics. Brendan Schroer of ''Sputnikmusic'' gave the album a perfect score out of five stars, stating that the album "shows the band in peak form, retaining their signature extremity while expanding their sound past its usual borders". Lars Gotrich of ''NPR'' said that ''The Gray In Between'' was a "welcome return" to the style of their older albums, stating that "''The Gray In Between'', while not exactly hopeful or despairing, empathetically injects split-second shrieks as punctuation marks between ruptured riffs and the ache of existence". Jeromes Dream
Jeromes Dream is a screamo band formed in West Haven, Connecticut and currently based in San Francisco, California, originally active from 1997 to 2001, and again from 2018 onwards. History Jeromes Dream formed on September 13, 1997 after a short jam session that was held in the basement of guitarist Nick Antonopoulos in his mother's house with bassist Jeff Smith and drummer Erik Ratensperger. According to Ratensperger, their first recorded material was intended to be used for a demo release; however, it caught the attention of Rice Control Records, resulting in the intended demo material being released as a split album with Amalgamation. Most of the band's music was released as splits with other artists, including other notable screamo acts such as Usurp Synapse. Iodine Recordings is an independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Iodine Recordings releases punk music, punk, hardcore punk, hardcore, and indie rock music. It was once home to bands such as Brand New (band), Brand New, Orange Island, Smoke or Fire (Jericho RVA), There Were Wires, Gregor Samsa (band), Gregor Samsa, and more. Jack Shirley
Jack Shirley is an American record producer, audio engineer and musician. He is known for his analog driven aesthetic, and work with eclectic artists, including Deafheaven, whose 2013 sophomore album '' Sunbather'' received widespread critical acclaim. Shirley also worked with various other music acts, including Jeff Rosenstock, Loma Prieta, Bosse-de-Nage, Punch, Whirr, Shinobu, La Bella, State Faults and Frameworks. Besides his production work, he plays guitar for the bands Comadre and Everybody Row. Shirley is also the owner of The Atomic Garden Recording Studio, located in Oakland, California.
