State Route 392 (SR 392) is a state highway and bypass around downtown Crossville in Cumberland County in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Route description SR 392 begins on the northwestern edge of downtown Crossville at an intersection with US 127/ SR 28 (N Main Street). It proceeds southwest as an undivided 2-lane highway with a center turn lane to an intersection with US 70/ SR 1 (West Avenue), where it widens to a 4-lane undivided highway and turns southeast. The highway passes by several homes and businesses before narrowing to 2 lanes after its short concurrency with SR 101 (Lantana Road). SR 392 continues southeast through some neighborhoods to another intersection with US 127/SR 28 (S Main Street). Crossville is a city in and the county seat of Cumberland County, Tennessee, United States. It is part of the Crossville Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,071 at the 2020 census. History Crossville developed at the intersection of a branch of the Great Stage Road, which connected the Knoxville, Tennessee, Knoxville area with the Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville area, and the Kentucky Stock Road, a cattle drovers' path connecting Middle Tennessee with Kentucky and later extending south to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chattanooga. These two roads are roughly paralleled by modern US-70 and US-127, respectively. Around 1800, an early American settler, Samuel Lambeth, opened a store at this junction, and the small community that developed around it became known as Lambeth's Crossroads. State Route 101 (SR 101) is a state highway in Bledsoe and Cumberland counties in the eastern portion U.S. state of Tennessee. Route description SR 101 begins in the rolling farmlands of Bledsoe County at a Y-Intersection with SR 30 in the Mount Crest community. It then goes northwest as it enters a large wooded area before coming to an intersection with SR 285, where it turns northeast and crosses into Cumberland County.
