State Route 101 (SR 101) is state highway in Bledsoe and Cumberland counties in the eastern portion U.S. state of Tennessee. Route description SR 101 begins in the rolling farmlands of Bledsoe County at a Y-Intersection with SR 30 in the Mount Crest community. It then goes northwest as it enters a large wooded area before coming to an intersection with SR 285, where it turns northeast and crosses into Cumberland County. It then becomes curvy as it passes through the rolling hills and farmland of the Cumberland Plateau before passing just north of Lake Tansi Village and having an intersection with SR 282, northeast of Meadow Park Lake. It then has an intersection with SR 419, which provides access to Cumberland Mountain State Park. It then enters Crossville, at an intersection with SR 392 (a beltway around downtown). Fairfield Glade is a resort, retirement community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cumberland County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 9,152 at the 2020 census, up over 3,000 from the 2010 census. Geography Fairfield Glade is located in eastern Cumberland County at (35.994355, -84.884986). It is situated on several ridges and valleys on the Cumberland Plateau and is bordered to the east by the valley of Daddys Creek, a tributary of the Obed River, and to the north by the state Catoosa Wildlife Management Area. State Route 28 (SR 28) is a state highway in the state of Tennessee, traversing the state in a north–south axis from south of Jasper to the Kentucky state line at Static. Route description Marion County SR 28 begins just south of Jasper at an interchange with I-24/ SR 27 (Exit 155) in Marion County. It then goes north as a 4-lane divided highway to have an interchange with US 41/US 64/US 72/ SR 2, where it becomes concurrent with US 41, in Jasper before bypassing downtown to the east and continuing north and narrowing to a 2-lane. Between both of the aforementioned interchanges, SR 28 has an unsigned concurrency with SR 27. State Route 1 (SR 1), known as the Memphis to Bristol Highway, is a mostly-unsigned state highway in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It stretches all the way from the Arkansas state line at Memphis in the southwest corner of the state to Bristol in the northeast part. Most of the route travels concurrently with U.S. Route 70 (US 70) and US 11W. It is the longest highway of any kind in the state of Tennessee. Route description SR 392 begins on the northwestern edge of downtown Crossville at an intersection with US 127/ SR 28 (N Main Street). It goes southwest as an undivided 2-lane highway with a center turn lane to an intersection with US 70/ SR 1 (West Avenue), where it widens to a 4-lane undivided highway and turns southeast, where it passes by several homes and businesses. SR 392 then narrows to 2-lanes after its short concurrency with SR 101 (Lantana Road), and continues southeast through some neighborhoods to another intersection with US 127/SR 28 (S Main Street). Cumberland Mountain State Park
Cumberland Mountain State Park is a state park in Cumberland County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The park consists of situated around Byrd Lake, a man-made lake created by the impoundment of Byrd Creek in the 1930s. The park is set amidst an environmental microcosm of the Cumberland Plateau and provides numerous recreational activities, including an 18-hole Bear Trace golf course. Cumberland Mountain State Park began as part of the greater Cumberland Homesteads Project, a New Deal-era initiative by the Resettlement Administration that helped relocate poverty-stricken families on the Cumberland Plateau to small farms centered on what is now the Cumberland Homestead community. It serves as the primary road in and out of Cumberland Mountain State Park. Even though it is signed north-south, SR 419 primarily goes in an east-west direction. State Route 282 (SR 282), also known as Dunbar Road, is a secondary state highway in Cumberland County, Tennessee, connecting SR 101 with Lake Tansi Village. SR 282 is the primary road, and only state highway, in and out of Lake Tansi Village. Route description SR 282 begins in Lake Tansi Village as a continuation of Dunbar Road, directly beside of Brown Elementary School. It goes north to pass through neighborhoods before passing by, and crossing, Lake Tansi. The highway then passes several businesses and a golf course before passing through more neighborhoods. SR 282 then leaves Lake Tansi Village and goes northeast through rural areas before coming to an end at an intersection with SR 101, just southwest of Crossville. Crossville, Tennessee
Crossville is a city in and the county seat of Cumberland County, Tennessee, United States. It is part of the Crossville, TN Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,071 at the 2020 census. History Crossville developed at the intersection of a branch of the Great Stage Road, which connected the Knoxville area with the Nashville area, and the Kentucky Stock Road, a cattle drovers' path connecting Middle Tennessee with Kentucky and later extending south to Chattanooga. These two roads are roughly paralleled by modern US-70 and US-127, respectively. Around 1800, an early American settler named Samuel Lambeth opened a store at this junction, and the small community that developed around it became known as Lambeth's Crossroads. The store was located at what has become the modern intersection of Main Street and Stanley Street, just south of the courthouse.
