TRU (band)
TRU (an abbreviation of The Real Untouchables) was an American Hip hop music, hip hop group, with members from New Orleans, Louisiana and Richmond, California, Richmond, California, active from 1989 to 2005. Between 1992 and 1997 the band dwindled from a dozen members to just the main three brothers, Master P, C-Murder, and Silkk the Shocker. The group released six albums, incorporating the typical No Limit Records, No Limit formula of G-funk rhythms married to hardcore Gangsta rap, gangsta lyrics. History Master P, his brothers C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker, Silk, his wife Sonya C, King George, Fonzo, Calli G, Markest Banks, Daniel Fry, Big Ed (rapper), Big Ed, Daria Kelly, Ea-Ski and CMT were credited as The Real Untouchables when ''Understanding the Criminal Mind'' was released in 1992. Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, is a subgenre of rap music that conveys the culture, values, and experiences of urban gangs and street hustlers, frequently discussing unpleasant realities of the world in general through an urban lens. I Got The Hook-Up
''I Got the Hook-Up'' is a 1998 American crime comedy film, starring Anthony Johnson, Master P, Ice Cube, C-Murder and directed by Michael Martin. This was No Limit Records' first theatrical release. The film was distributed by Dimension Films. In the film, a duo of petty criminals sell television sets and boomboxes. After a shipment is delivered to them by mistake, they find themselves targeted by a local crime boss, by the primary enforcer of the boss, and by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Plot Working out of their van, Black (Master P) and Blue (Johnson) deal in TV sets and boomboxes, but then a driver mistakenly drops off a cell phone shipment. ''The Truth'' is the sixth and final studio album released by New Orleans rap group, TRU. It was released on February 22, 2005, on The New No Limit and was produced by Master P, Drumma Boy, Kaos, Myke Diesel and Bass Heavy. Compared to the previous two TRU albums, The Truth only found minor success selling 45,000 copies, peaking at No. 54 on the ''Billboard'' 200, No. 15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 2 on the Independent Albums. ''Tru 2 da Game'' is the fourth studio album released by New Orleans hip-hop group, TRU. It was released February 18, 1997 on No Limit Records and was produced by Beats By the Pound. The album found a large amount of success, peaking at #8 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums selling 200,000 copies in its first week. A single from the album entitled " I Always Feel Like" also found some success, peaking at #71 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, #11 on the Hot Rap Singles and #42 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.
