Taiwan Area Resident Certificate
A Resident Certificate () is the identity document issued to long-term or permanent residents of the Taiwan area of the Republic of China who do not have Household registration in Taiwan. In Taiwanese laws, all nationals with household registration are issued a National Identification Card. The Resident Certificate is issued by the National Immigration Agency. Currently, there are several types of Resident Certificate that reflect the bearer's immigration status. The Alien Resident Certificate (), or ARC, is given to foreign residents in Taiwan, while the nearly identical Taiwan Area Resident Certificate (), or TARC, is given to national without household registration including qualified overseas Taiwanese, qualified overseas Chinese, and recently naturalized nationals. Nationals of the People's Republic of China (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau) are given Taiwan Area resident certificates with special annotations. Alien Resident Certificate There are vari ...

Target Approval And Review Committee
A branch of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), the Target Approval and Review Committee (TARC) grants or denies the ability to put a suspect or group under surveillance and open a clandestine investigation. It is chaired by the Director of CSIS (currently David Vigneault), senior CSIS officers and representatives from the Department of Justice and Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. In March 1991, TARC amended their previous regulations, and included a requirement that the Solicitor General must be consulted before allowing any investigation. "The range of investigative techniques to be deployed under this authorization will be subject to consultation with the Minister." From this point on, the Service was required to send an aide-mémoire to the Solicitor General - prior to implementing the TARC Certificate. Levels of investigation There are three levels of possible allowance. *Level 1 ::The first level allows agents to begin a short ...

Tax Administration Reform Commission
The Tax Administration Reform Commission or TARC is committee appointed by the Government of India for giving recommendations for reviewing the public Tax Administration system of India. The Union Finance Minister had made an announcement in his Budget Speech 2013-14 for setting up of Tax Administration Reform Commission (TARC) to review the application of tax policies and tax laws in India in the context of global best practices, and to recommend measures for reforms required in tax administration. Accordingly, TARC was established vide the Government of India Notification dated 21 August 2013. The term of the Commission is 18 months and works as an advisory body to the Ministry of Finance. The Commission has given its first set of recommendations to the new government. Dr. Parthasarathi Shome is Adviser (at the level of Minister of State) to the Indian Finance Minister, 2013. The Amazing Race Canada
''The Amazing Race Canada'' is a Canadian adventure reality game show based on the international ''Amazing Race'' franchise. Following the premise of other versions of the format, the show follows teams of two as they race across Canada and around the world. Each season is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges, and travel by air, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transport. Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of most legs for being the last to arrive at designated Pit Stops. The first team to arrive at the Finish Line wins a grand prize of and additional prizes from the show's sponsors. Commissioned and broadcast by CTV, ''The Amazing Race Canada'' is hosted by former Olympian Jon Montgomery, produced by Insight Productions in association with Bell Media and with the support of Profiles Television. After the season 7 finale, it was announced that the sho ...

CCL17
CCL17 is a powerful chemokine produced in the thymus and by antigen-presenting cells like dendritic cells, macrophages, and monocytes. CCL17 plays a complex role in cancer. It attracts T-regulatory cells allowing for some cancers to evade an immune response. However, in other cancers, such as melanoma, an increase in CCL17 is linked to an improved outcome. CCL17 has also been linked to autoimmune and allergic diseases. Classification CCL17 (CC chemokine ligand 17) was initially named TARC (thymus- and activation-regulated chemokine) when first isolated in 1996. It was later renamed CCL17 as the naming conventions for all cytokines were updated to standardize names. Function Cytokines, like CCL17, help cells communicate with one another, and stimulate cell movement. Chemokines are a type of cytokine that attract white blood cells to sites of inflammation or disease. CCL17 as well as its partner chemokine CCL22 induce chemotaxis in T-helper cells. They do this by binding to ...

Total Active Reflection Coefficient
The total active reflection coefficient (TARC) within mathematics and physics scattering theory, relates the total incident power to the total outgoing power in an N-port microwave component. The TARC is mainly used for multiple-input multiple-output ( MIMO) antenna systems and array antennas, where the outgoing power is unwanted reflected power. The name shows the similarities with the active reflection coefficient, which is used for single elements. The TARC is the square root of the sum of all outgoing powers at the ports, divided by the sum of all incident powers at the ports of an N-port antenna. Similarly to the active reflection coefficient, the TARC is a function of frequency, and it also depends on scan angle and tapering. With this definition we can characterize the multi-port antenna’s frequency bandwidth and radiation performance. When the antennas are made of lossless materials, TARC can be computed directly from the scattering matrix by : \Gamma^t_a = \frac ...

Transit Authority Of River City
The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is the major public transportation provider for the Louisville, Kentucky, United States metro area, which includes parts of Southern Indiana. This includes the suburbs of Clark County, and Floyd County in Southern Indiana. TARC is publicly funded and absorbed various earlier private mass transit companies in Louisville, the largest of which was the Louisville Transit Company. In , the system had a ridership of , or about per weekday as of . TARC began bus operations in 1974. As of 2023, TARC operates a fleet of 227 accessible buses, which runs year-round. TARC also operates many specialized routes providing transportation to major local employers, educational institutions and recreational events. TARC has explored other forms of public transit, including light rail, but as of 2023 provides only bus service. History The Transit Authority of River City was created in 1971 after 1970 legislation authorized city, and county govern ...

Truth And Reconciliation Commission (other)
A truth commission, also known as a truth and reconciliation commission or truth and justice commission, is an official body tasked with discovering and revealing past wrongdoing by a government (or, depending on the circumstances, non-state actors also), in the hope of resolving conflict left over from the past. Truth commissions are, under various names, occasionally set up by states emerging from periods of internal unrest, civil war, or dictatorship marked by human rights abuses. In both their truth-seeking and reconciling functions, truth commissions have political implications: they "constantly make choices when they define such basic objectives as truth, reconciliation, justice, memory, reparation, and recognition, and decide how these objectives should be met and whose needs should be served". According to one widely cited definition: "A truth commission (1) is focused on the past, rather than in ongoing events; (2) investigates a pattern of events that took place ove ...
