Storronden is a mountain in Sel Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Rondane mountains within Rondane National Park. The mountain sits about northeast of the town of Otta. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Svartnuten and Steet to the west, Vinjeronden and Rondeslottet to the northwest, Rondvasshøgde to the east, Hornflågene to the southeast, and Simlepiggen to the south. Name The first element is ''stor'' which means 'large' or 'big'. The last part of the name comes from the words which was probably the original name of the nearby lake Rondvatnet. Many of the mountains near the lake were then named after this lake. The Old Norse form of the name was which means 'stripe' or 'edge' (referring to the long and narrow form of the lake). Rondane National Park
Rondane National Park ( no, Rondane nasjonalpark) is the oldest national park in Norway, having been established on 21 December 1962. The park is located in Innlandet county, in the municipalities of Dovre, Folldal, Sel, Nord-Fron, Sør-Fron, Stor-Elvdal, and Ringebu. The park contains ten peaks above , with the highest being Rondeslottet at an altitude of . The park is an important habitat for herds of wild reindeer. Rondvasshøgde is a mountain ridge in Innlandet county, Norway. The ridge is located in Sel Municipality although one end of the ridge extends across the border into Folldal Municipality. The ridge consists of 3 main peaks: ''Rondvasshøgde Sentraltopp'', ''Rondvasshøgde Øst'', and ''Rondvasshøgde Øst 2''. The mountain lies about northeast of the town of Otta. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Veslsvulten to the east, Hornflågene to the southeast, Simlepiggen to the southwest, and Storronden and Svartnuten to the west. Vinjeronden
Vinjeronden is a mountain in Innlandet county, Norway. It is one of the ten mountains in the Rondane mountain range measuring over in height. The mountain is a tri-point that lies on the border of the three municipalities of Dovre, Folldal, and Sel. The mountain Rondeslottet lies immediately to the north, the mountains Storronden and Rondvasshøgde lie to the southeast, and Svartnuten lies to the southwest. The mountain is easily accessed by hiking from the Rondvassbu tourist cabin (run by the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association), on the way from Rondvassbu to Rondeslottet, which is the highest mountain in Rondane. Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date). is a town in Sel Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is also the administrative centre of the municipality. The town is located at the confluence of the Gudbrandsdalslågen and Otta rivers. The European route E6 highway runs through the town.
