Slater Cup
The Slater Cup is the trophy awarded to the winner of the rugby match between Gloucester Rugby and Leicester Tigers twice every season in Premiership Rugby, it is named after the former captain of both clubs Ed Slater. The inaugural edition was played in the 2022–23 season and was won by Leicester Tigers. The trophy extends to Premiership Women's Rugby, featuring Gloucester-Hartpury and Leicester Tigers Women. The inaugural women's edition was played in the 2023–24 season. History In November 2022, Gloucester Rugby and Leicester Tigers announced that they would compete for a trophy named after Ed Slater. Slater played for and captained both clubs but was forced to retire in July 2022 after a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease. Kingsholm Stadium
Kingsholm Stadium is a rugby union stadium located in the Kingsholm area of Gloucester, England, and is the home stadium of Gloucester Rugby. The stadium has a capacity of 16,115. It is sometimes nicknamed 'Castle Grim', after the estate where the stadium is built. The new main grandstand, opened in 2007, is an all-seated 7,500 capacity stand along the south touchline. It is currently sponsored by Malvern Tyres. Kingsholm was used as a home stadium for England before they settled at Twickenham and also hosted New Zealand versus United States for a pool match in the 1991 Rugby World Cup. In common with many grounds of English professional rugby union clubs, Kingsholm features several terraced standing areas. Mike Brown (born 4 September 1985) is a former English professional rugby union player who played Fullback (rugby union), fullback or Wing (rugby union), wing. Brown joined the Harlequins senior team in 2005, having played youth rugby at Salisbury RFC, Salisbury and Melksham, and played 382 times for the London club.
