Shi Jin-Hua
Shi Jin-Hua (; 1964 – 28 June 2024) was a Taiwanese contemporary artist, known predominantly for conceptual arts and performance; notably for his work, '' Pen Walking'', shown at Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2008. Background Shi was born in Penghu in 1964. He was diagnosed with diabetes at age of 17. Shi graduated from National Taiwan Normal University in 1990. He obtained M.F.A from University of California, Irvine in 1996. Shi was killed on 28 June 2024, when a car collided with his bicycle as he rode home from his studio in Kaohsiung. He was 60. Penghu
The Penghu ( , Hokkien Pe̍h-ōe-jī, POJ: ''Phîⁿ-ô͘'' or ''Phêⁿ-ô͘'' ) or Pescadores Islands are an archipelago of 90 islands and islets in the Taiwan Strait, about west of the main island of Taiwan across the Penghu Channel, covering an area of . The artistic heritage of Taiwan is extremely diverse with multiple major influences and periods. Traditionally most arts were practiced for religious or ceremonial purposes. Art was first formalized under the Japanese but did not flourish until the democratic period. Art collecting has a long history in Taiwan and today Taiwan is one of the world's most significant art markets. The performing arts have a strong history in Taiwan, especially theater, opera, music, and glove puppetry. The National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts is the world's largest performing arts center. Taipei Fine Arts Museum
The Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM; ) is a museum in Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is in the Taipei Expo Park. The museum first opened on August 8, 1983, at the former site of the United States Taiwan Defense Command. It was the first museum in Taiwan built for contemporary art exhibitions. The architecture is a local interpretation of the Japanese Metabolist Movement, and the building was designed by architect Kao Er-Pan. History In 1976, following the central government's decision enhance the cultural life of city, the Taipei Municipal Government embarked on a plan to build a high-standard museum.
