Francis Sheehy-Skeffington

Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington
Johanna Mary Sheehy-Skeffington (née Sheehy; 24 May 1877 – 20 April 1946) was a suffragette and Irish nationalist. Along with her husband Francis Sheehy-Skeffington, Margaret Cousins and James Cousins, she founded the Irish Women's Franchise League in 1908 with the aim of obtaining women's voting rights. She was later a founding member of the Irish Women Workers' Union. Her son Owen Sheehy-Skeffington became a politician and Irish senator. Paudie Sheehy (1932–1967) was an Irish amateur sportsman and business executive. He played Gaelic football with John Mitchels and the Kerry county team from 1953 to 1962. He captained Kerry on two occasions. He was also a senior executive with the state-owned Irish Sugar and its affiliates, Erin Foods and Heinz-Erin Foods. Mikey Sheehy
Michael Sheehy (born 28 July 1954) is an Irish Gaelic football selector and former player. His league and championship career at senior level with the Kerry county team spanned fifteen seasons from 1973 to 1988. Born in Tralee, County Kerry, Sheehy's father, Jim Sheehy, had played with the Laune Rangers club in his youth. Sheehy first played competitive Gaelic football during his schooling at Tralee CBS. He first appeared for the Austin Stacks club at underage levels, before winning an All-Ireland medal with the senior team in 1977. Sheehy also won one Munster medal and five county club championship medals. Sheehy made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he was picked on the Kerry minor team. Owen Lancelot Sheehy-Skeffington (19 May 1909 – 7 June 1970) was an Irish university lecturer and senator. Nicholas Sheehy
Father Nicholas Sheehy (1728–1766) was an 18th-century Irish Roman Catholic priest who was executed on the charge of being an accessory to murder. Father Sheehy was a prominent and vocal opponent of the Penal Laws, which subjected the whole Catholic Church in Ireland to religious persecution, and as a vocal activist for Catholic Emancipation. Rick Sheehy (born October 3, 1959) is an American politician who served as the 38th lieutenant governor of Nebraska from 2005 to 2013. Father Eugene Sheehy (25 December 1841 – July 1917) was a priest, president of the local branch of the Irish National Land League at Kilmallock, and founder member of the Gaelic Athletic Association. He was known as the "Land League priest", and his activities landed him in prison. He educated Éamon de Valera who went on to be president of Ireland. Seán Óg Sheehy (24 May 1939 – 31 May 2024) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he played with John Mitchels and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. David Sheehy (1844 – 17 December 1932) was an Irish nationalist politician. He was a member of parliament (MP) from 1885 to 1900 and from 1903 to 1918, taking his seat as a member of the Irish Parliamentary Party in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
