Severino Yunier González (born September 28, 1992) is a Panamanian professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Baseball career Philadelphia Phillies González signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent on April 27, 2011. Playing for the Double–A Reading Fightin Phils in 2013, González had a 2.00 earned run average with 119 strikeouts over innings pitched. After the season, he won the Paul Owens Award as the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Year. González made his major league debut on April 28, 2015, against the St. Louis Cardinals. González appeared in 27 games for Philadelphia in 2016, registering a 5.60 ERA with 34 strikeouts in innings pitched. Baseball competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile are scheduled to be held from October 18 to 28. The venue for the competition is the Baseball and Softball Center, located in Cerillos, a suburb of Santiago. A total of eight men's teams (each consisting of up to 24 players) will compete. The qualifying round of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, officially called The World Baseball Classic 2022 Qualifiers was held from 16 September 2022 to 5 October 2022. Teams which participated at the 2017 World Baseball Classic automatically qualified for the 2023 tournament. The qualifying round consisted of two tournaments to be participated by six teams each. The 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier is a baseball tournament that was held between January 29 and February 3, 2019 in Ibiúna and São Paulo, Brazil. The tournament qualified the last four teams to the Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games tournament in Lima, Peru.
