Ruoke
Ruoke is a residential area and a district of Jyväskylä, Finland. It is a settlement and a former stop by the Jyväskylä-Haapamäki railway. The distance to central Jyväskylä is approximately . Ruoke may be seen as a separate village, though it was not a register village (an official village), instead being on the border of three historical register villages: Jyväskylä, Vesanka and Palokka. Register villages were officially abolished in 2014. Geography Boundaries The official district (''kaupunginosa'', an area for local development) and statistical area of Ruoke only include the portion within the village of Jyväskylä. The district is bigger than the statistical area, as it also includes the northern part of the Killeri statistical area. The district borders Rippalanmäki in the north, Kortepohja in the east, Kypärämäki in the southeast, Valkeamäki in the south and Vesanka in the west. Vesanka
Vesanka is a village and a district of the city of Jyväskylä, in Central Finland. Before 1 January 2009, it was one of the villages of Jyväskylän maalaiskunta. It is located in the far western part of Jyväskylä near its borders with Petäjävesi, Muurame and, until 31 December 2008, Korpilahti. Residential concentrations within the official district include Kettulanmäki, Kylmäoja, Möykynmäki and Perälä. Vesanka forms the Kuohu-Vesanka ward together with Kuohu, Ruoke and Varsalanperä. Vesanka was classified as a separate urban area (taajama) until 2019. Geography The district of Vesanka borders Varsalanperä in the north, Rippalanmäki, Ruoke and Valkeamäki in the east, Hanhiperä in the southeast, Isolahti (Muurame) in the south and Kuohu in the west. Hanhiperä
Hanhiperä is a district and a statistical area of Jyväskylä, Finland. It is a remote part of Jyväskylä with only a few houses and only 6 permanent inhabitants as of 2021. The district of Hanhiperä borders Valkeamäki in the north, Keltinmäki in the east, Taka-Keljo in the south and Vesanka in the west. It also has a small border with the municipality of Muurame in the west. The main road of Hanhiperä and Valkeamäki is ''Hanhiperäntie'', which leads to the road 6015 (Vesangantie), in turn connecting Hanhiperä to central Jyväskylä and the national road 18/ 23. Tuomiojärvi
Tuomiojärvi is a lake in the city of Jyväskylä, Central Finland. The 298-hectare lake has 7 islands. The average depth of the lake is 3.5 metres and the maximum depth is 13.1 metres. The lake has five official beach areas. Residential areas by the lake include Kortepohja, Viitaniemi, Taulumäki, Mannila and Haukkala. There are two similarly named lakes within the catchment area of Tuomiojärvi: Ylä-Tuomiojärvi and Vähä Tuomiojärvi, both of which are located near Saarenmaa. Etymology The name of Tuomiojärvi appears to contain the word , meaning 'sentence' or 'judgment'. Kuohu
Kuohu () is a village, urban areas in Finland, urban area and districts of Jyväskylä, district of Jyväskylä, Finland, located in the western part of the city near the border with Petäjävesi. Before 2009, it was part of Jyväskylän maalaiskunta. The Finnish national road 18/Finnish national road 23, 23 and Haapamäki–Jyväskylä railway pass through Kuohu. Jyväskylän maalaiskunta (), 'The Rural Municipality of Jyväskylä' is a List of former municipalities of Finland, former municipality of Finland. Keltinmäki
Keltinmäki is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland. It is located about 5–6 kilometers southwest of the city center. Keltinmäki was built mostly during the 1970s, but some areas in the district were built in the 1980s–2000s. The residential buildings in Keltinmäki are mostly apartment buildings and row houses, but there are also some single-family house neighborhoods in the area. Längelmäki
Längelmäki is a former municipality of Finland. Längelmäki was divided in 2007 between Jämsä and Orivesi. Längelmäki is situated by the lake Längelmävesi, from which it has got also its name. The administrative center of Längelmäki was the village of Länkipohja. Its western parts are now part of the Pirkanmaa region and the eastern part are part of the Central Finland region. Tikkakoski
Tikkakoski is an urban area (a '' taajama'') and a district of Jyväskylä, Finland, about north of the city center. Before 2009, Tikkakoski was part of Jyväskylän maalaiskunta. Having originally been part of Tikka-Mannila, Tikkakoski began to develop into a distinct industrial community around the 1890s. During the next century, the settlement continued to grow around industry and an air force garrison, which remained the largest employers in Tikkakoski until the early 1990s depression in Finland.
