Pure Rock Fury
''Pure Rock Fury'' is the fifth full-length album by American rock band Clutch, released on March 13, 2001, and is the only album release with Atlantic Records. The album liner notes state that it is dedicated to Ronnie True. Album information This album features guest appearances by Scott "Wino" Weinrich (The Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan), Leslie West (Mountain), and Dan and Joe of Sixty Watt Shaman, highlighting the band's habit of having musical contemporaries play on their albums. The album yielded a minor hit with "Careful with That Mic...", a rap rock parody, which ''CMJ'' complimented for its clever rhymes. The song "Immortal" was originally released with different lyrics and arrangement as the song "Baby I'm Down" by Leslie West on his debut album ''Mountain''. Clutch is an American rock band from Germantown, Maryland. Since its formation in 1991, the band line-up has included Tim Sult (lead guitar), Dan Maines (bass), Jean-Paul Gaster (drums), and Neil Fallon (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards). To date, Clutch has released thirteen studio albums, and several rarities and live albums. Since 2008, the band has been signed to their own record label, Weathermaker Music. Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Scott "Wino" Weinrich
Robert Scott Weinrich (born 1961), better known as Wino, is an American singer and guitarist. He has been highly influential in helping develop and codify doom metal's trademark sound, and is also considered an influential figure in the stoner rock and punk rock genres. Weinrich started his first band Warhorse in 1976, which would later become The Obsessed. He joined doom metal band Saint Vitus in 1986. He has also released three solo albums since 2009. His early influences were the Monkees and the Beatles (the latter inspired him to play guitar), and later Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath. Jean-Paul Gaster (born June 19, 1971) is the drummer for American rock band Clutch. Style and influences Jean-Paul Gaster learned to play drums by playing along to 1960s and 1970s heavy rock bands like Jimi Hendrix, Cream, ZZ Top and Black Sabbath. Washington D.C's Go-go music and in particular drummers such as Ju Ju House, Brandon Finley and Ricky Wellman were early influences as well. He is one of many students who studied with legendary Washington D.C drummer and educator Walter Salb.
