Premanand Sangodkar
Premanand M. Sangodkar (born Premananda Madco Sangoldacar; 16 April 1941) is an Indian former actor, director, playwright, and All India Radio artiste known for his work on the Konkani stage. He started his career by acting in Marathi nataks and later made his debut in the ''tiatr'' production ''Ekuch Rosto'' (Only One Way) by M. Boyer in 1980, as a ''tiatrist''. Early life He originally came from the village of Sangolda in Bardez, and has resided in the city of Margao since 1947. Career Sangodkar's artistic career took shape through his active involvement in numerous Marathi nattaks, theatrical performances organized by Natekar in the village of Marcel. These ''nattaks'' served as a platform for emerging talents, with the most talented groups earning the opportunity to compete in ''nattak'' competitions held at the nearby Kala Academy, situated in close proximity to the EDC building. Pedro Xavier D'Costa (né da Costa; 8 September 1929 – 12 October 2007), known professionally as Prem Kumar, was an Indian actor, playwright, theatre director, lyricist and composer known for his work in Hindi, Konkani films, and ''tiatr'' productions. Known as a transformative figure in the ''tiatr'' stage, he elevated the quality of Konkani ''tiatr'' to a level comparable to dramas in other regional languages. Mario Menezes
Mario Piedade Menezes (29 May 1960 – 25 June 2022), popularly known by his sobriquet Tragedy King, was an Indian theatre director, playwright, and actor who primarily worked on the Konkani stage. He was the vice president of the Tiatr Academy Goa. Career Menezes made his debut as a professional tiatrist in 1982. He was part of Rosario Rodrigues' troupe and was a long time member of Prince Jacob's troupe before starting out as an independent director and forming his own troupe "Menezes Theatre" in 2001. Menezes has also acted in tiatrs by directors like Roseferns, Comedian Agostinho, Jose Rod, Pascoal Rodrigues, Patrick Dourado, Ligorio Fernandes and Menino De Bandar. Prompter (theatre)
The prompter (sometimes prompt) in a Theater (building), theatre is a person who prompts or cues actors when they forget their lines or neglect to move on the stage (theatre), stage to where they are supposed to be situated. The role of the souffleur, or prompter, reaches back to the medieval theatre, but has disappeared in countries like Britain, the United States, France, and Italy. In these places, actors are expected to assist each other in case they forget their lines. However, in Germany and central Europe, the job of the prompter is still very much alive and integral to the repertory system. Amjad Khan (actor)
Amjad Khan (21 October 1943 – 27 July 1992) was a renowned Indian actor and film director. He worked in over 132 films in a career spanning nearly twenty years. He was the son of the actor Jayant. He gained popularity for villainous roles in mostly Hindi films, the most famous among his enacted roles being Gabbar Singh in the 1975 film '' Sholay'' and of Dilawar in '' Muqaddar Ka Sikandar'' (1978). Bandra ( æːɳɖɾa is a coastal suburb located in Mumbai, the largest city of the Konkan division in Maharashtra, India. Dhobitalao
Dhobitalao ("Washerman's Lake") is a neighborhood in the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), in India. Located in the South Mumbai area at an elevation of 11 m (31 ft), it used to be a location where linen was washed. In British times, dhobis used to wash the British soldiers clothes here. It was filled up in the mid-17th century, as the city began to expand.
