Poland Speedway Team
The Poland national speedway team is the national motorcycle speedway team of Poland and is controlled by the Polish Motor Union ( PZM). They are one of the most successful speedway nations of all time. History The Polish speedway team participated in the inaugural Speedway World Team Cup, being seeded through to the final of the 1960 Speedway World Team Cup. The team were a major force in the opening decade of the tournament, winning the World Team Cup in 1961, 1965, 1966 and 1969, with only the Swedish team winning more World Cups. In the 1970s, the team continued to be one of the major forces in Eastern Europe and qualified for the World Team Cup final every year from 1970 to 1979. Andrzej Wyglenda and Jerzy Szczakiel also won the 1971 Speedway World Pairs Championship. Polski Związek Motorowy
The Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (; PZM, PZMot) is an automobile club and the governing body of motorsports in Poland. It is based in Warsaw. Established in 1950 by merging the Polish Car Club and the Polish Motorcycle Association. According to its charter, the PZM deals with propagation of knowledge and motor cultures, it leads operations in favor of safety in road traffic, and it promotes motor tourism and camping, as well as supporting the antique vehicle hobby. The 2007 Speedway World Cup (SWC) was the 7th FIM Speedway World Cup season. The Final took place on 21 July 2007 in the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium in Leszno, Poland. Henryk Żyto
Henryk Żyto (1936–2018) was an international motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 32 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Speedway career Żyto reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1960 Individual Speedway World Championship. Also in 1960, he rode for Coventry Bees in the British speedway leagues, during the 1960 Speedway National League and won both the Midland Riders' Championship and the Midland Cup. He was the Polish champion during the 1963 Polish speedway season, after he won gold medal at the Polish Individual Speedway Championship. Marian Kaiser
Marian Kaiser (14 January 1933 – 10 April 1991) was an international motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 31 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Speedway career Kaiser reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on two occasions, in the 1960 Individual Speedway World Championship and the 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship. In 1956 he toured the United Kingdom with the Polish team, which cost £2,000 to organise and was paid by the Polish Motor Club and British authorities. He was the Polish champion in 1957 after he won gold at the Polish Individual Speedway Championship. Kaiser reached the 1958 European Final as part of the 1958 Individual Speedway World Championship. Czechoslovakia National Speedway Team
The Czechoslovakia national speedway team were one of the teams that competed in international team motorcycle speedway. History The Czechoslovakian speedway team (which consisted predominantly of Czech Republic riders) competed in the inaugural Speedway World Team Cup during the 1960 Speedway World Team Cup and won the bronze medal after finishing third in the final. Throughout the history of World Team Cup, the team were regular World Cup contenders from 1960 until their final World Cup in 1992. They reached the final on fourteen occasions, winning the silver medal in 1963 and two more bronze medals in 1977 and 1979. In addition to the four medals at the World Cup, the team won a bronze medal at the Speedway World Pairs Championship. England National Speedway Team
The Great Britain national speedway team (formerly the England speedway team) is one of the major teams in international motorcycle speedway. The team is managed by former Great Britain riders Oliver Allen and Simon Stead, and captained by the Tai Woffinden. The team raced as England from 1928 to 1961 and again from 1974 to 2000. They have raced as Great Britain from 1962 to 1973 and since 2001. Speedway Of Nations
The Speedway of Nations is a motorcycle speedway event for national teams, held each year in a different country. The first edition of the competition in the current format took place in 2018. It was the first time an official FIM international pairs competition was staged since the World Pairs Championship ceased in 1993. Great Britain are the current champions after winning in 2024. The Speedway of Nations was not held in 2023 due to the return of the Speedway World Cup, but returned to the speedway calendar in 2024 and 2025. Format Each meeting is staged between seven national teams, with each national team represented by two riders. A third rider, who must be aged 21 years or under, acts as a reserve and can be used at any time. Each pairing rides against each other once. The 2013 FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC) was the thirteenth Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM Speedway World Cup, the annual international Motorcycle speedway, speedway world championship tournament. It took place between 13 July and 20 July 2013 and involved eight national teams. Six teams were seeded through to the tournament and two qualification rounds were held in April and May 2011 to determine the final two places.
