Petite Maman
''Petite Maman'' (''Little Mother'') is a 2021 French fantasy family drama film written and directed by Céline Sciamma. Starring twins Joséphine and Gabrielle Sanz with Stéphane Varupenne, Nina Meurisse, and Margo Abascal. The film follows a young girl coping with the death of her maternal grandmother by understanding better and bonding with both her mother and grandmother in the past. The film had its world premiere at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival on 3 March 2021, and was released in France on 2 June 2021, by Pyramide Distribution. Céline Sciamma
Céline Sciamma (; born 12 November 1978) is a French screenwriter and film director. She wrote and directed '' Water Lilies'' (2007), '' Tomboy'' (2011), '' Girlhood'' (2014), '' Portrait of a Lady on Fire'' (2019), and '' Petite Maman'' (2021). Sciamma has received various awards and nominations for her films, including two BAFTA nominations for Best Film Not in the English Language. The inaugural edition of Jakarta Film Week was held on 18 to 21 November 2021 by the Tourism and Creative Economy Department of Jakarta as an effort to support the revival of film industry post the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
