Jakarta Film Week
Jakarta Film Week is an international film festival held in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was initiated by the Tourism and Creative Economy Department of Jakarta in 2021, aimed to support the revival of the film industry post the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In addition to film screenings and awards, the festival also features talk programs, masterclasses, a short film production funding called Jakarta Film Fund, and a producer's lab. The inaugural edition of Jakarta Film Week was held on 18 to 21 November 2021, took place at the CGV Grand Indonesia, Metropole XXI, and Ashley Hotel. 2022 Jakarta Film Week
The 2022 Jakarta Film Week, the second edition of the film festival Jakarta Film Week, was held on 13 to 16 October 2022. The festival opened with Fajar Nugros' ''The Ballads of Roy'', and closed with Sorayos Prapapan's film ''Arnold Is a Model Student''. It was held in-person around Central Jakarta at the CGV Grand Indonesia, Ashley Hotel, also a new venue: Kineforum Ismail Marzuki Park, as well as virtual through streaming service Vidio. A total of 88 films from 28 countries were screened during the festival. The edition presented new award categories: Global Animation Award to the best international animation short film, and Series of the Year to the best Indonesian series produced by over-the-top media service. Kimo Stamboel (born Mochammad Maliki Stamboel on 25 June 1980) is an Indonesian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for his works on the horror genres both as himself and also as part of The Mo Brothers with friend Timo Tjahjanto. Stamboel launched his filmmaking career in 2004 with the release of his directorial debut ''Bunian'' in 2004 and achieved mainstream success with the release of slasher hit '' Macabre'' (also known as ''Rumah Dara'') in 2009. Lila Avilés (born in 1982) is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, actress and producer. The 2023 Jakarta Film Week, the third edition of the film festival Jakarta Film Week, was held on 25 to 29 October 2023. The festival opened with Wregas Bhanuteja's film '' Andragogy'', and closed with Amanda Nell Eu's body horror film '' Tiger Stripes''. It was held in-person around Central Jakarta at the CGV Grand Indonesia, Ashley Hotel, Kineforum Ismail Marzuki Park and a new venue: Galeri Indonesia Kaya, also located at Grand Indonesia. Michelle Garza Cervera (born September 27, 1987) is a Mexican film director and screenwriter. She is best known by her directorial debut film '' Huesera: The Bone Woman'' which was awarded the Best New Narrative Director and the Nora Ephron Award at the Tribeca Festival.
