Peter White (October 10, 1937 – November 1, 2023) was an American actor. Early life and education Peter White was born in New York City on October 10, 1937. He studied acting at the Yale School of Drama. Career In 1968, White received critical acclaim for his role as Alan McCarthy in off-Broadway's '' The Boys in the Band''. White, and the rest of the original cast, appeared in the 1970 film version, directed by William Friedkin. He was touring in ''Barefoot in the Park'' with Myrna Loy when he was offered the part in Mart Crowley's controversial play about a group of gay friends in New York. He told ''Soap Opera Digest'': "Things were sort of really moving for me; I was doing so well, and I thought, 'I don't need this kind of risk.' I talked to Myrna — she became my mentor — and she said, 'Peter, if you are going to be an actor, you are going to have to take some risks in your life.'" Peter White (Canadian Politician)
Peter White, (August 30, 1838 – May 3, 1906) was a Canadian parliamentarian. White was born into a family that had established its homestead at the junction of the Muskrat and Ottawa Rivers where the town of Pembroke, Ontario was soon established. His family established several businesses including a lumberyard, general store and blacksmith's shop. As a young man, White and his brother took over the family business and became wealthy as they supplied the steam engine industries. He also became a major shareholder and president of the Pembroke Company. White entered politics and became reeve of Pembroke Township in 1870. He first ran for the House of Commons of Canada as a Conservative candidate in the 1872 federal election in the riding of Renfrew North but was defeated. 1918 USA Outdoor Track And Field Championships
The 1918 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships were organized by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and served as the national championships in outdoor track and field for the United States. The men's edition was held at Great Lakes Naval Station in Great Lakes, Illinois, and it took place 21 September. The first women's championships were not held until 1923 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, 1923. At the championships, there were a record 400 competitors, but most of them had already enlisted in World War I and many did not continue competing after the war. Peter White (born March 15, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played nine seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks. Playing career As a youth, White played in the 1982 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from the Montreal North Shore. White was drafted in the fifth round, and 92nd overall, by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. Peter White (11 July 1970 – 2 November 1996) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Biography Born 11 July 1970, White came from a sporting family, with his brother Dean a reserves player at Carlton and father Cliff a former Heathcote District Football League player, coach and administrator. White was just 16 when he won Mt Pleasant Football Club's senior "Best and Fairest" in 1986. Two years later he was playing under-19s football for Carlton and after winning their club champion award was promoted to their VFL list in 1989. He made his league debut at Waverley Park against Collingwood and had 12 disposals. The following week White had five touches and kicked his only goal, in a win over Fitzroy at Princes Park. Peter White (October 31, 1830 – June 6, 1908) was one of the original settlers of Marquette, Michigan. He was a banker, businessman, real estate developer, and a philanthropist; and was involved in a number of the area's iron mining-related businesses, including acting as a director the Cleveland Iron Company. White served in many local and state public offices, including postmaster, county clerk, school board member, state representative and senator, and as a member of the state library commission and a Regent of the University of Michigan. Peter White MBE (born 1947, Winchester) is a visually impaired British broadcast journalist and DJ. Early life and career White was born in Winchester, Hampshire. Blind since birth (as was his elder brother), he attended New College Worcester, which was then known as the Worcester College for the Blind. He was a regular presenter on BBC Radio Solent from the station's launch in 1971 until November 2006, when he was downsized. Peter Nicholson Duckett White, MC (19 January 1936 – 13 February 2005) was an Australian Army officer and politician. Born in Brisbane, he was educated at the Royal Military College, Duntroon and the Australian National University in Canberra. He served in the Australian Army from 1954 to 1975, during which time he deployed to Malaya and Vietnam, was awarded the Military Cross, and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1977, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Liberal member for Southport. He held that position until 1980, when he was defeated by National Party candidate, Doug Jennings.
