Peter White (Australian Politician, Born 1936)
Peter Nicholson Duckett White, MC (19 January 1936 – 13 February 2005) was an Australian Army officer and politician. Born in Brisbane, he was educated at the Royal Military College, Duntroon and the Australian National University in Canberra. He served in the Australian Army from 1954 to 1975, during which time he deployed to Malaya and Vietnam, was awarded the Military Cross, and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1977, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Liberal member for Southport. He held that position until 1980, when he was defeated by National Party candidate, Doug Jennings. White then entered federal politics, winning the by-election for the Australian House of Representatives seat of McPherson caused by the death of Liberal minister Eric Robinson. The Division of McPherson is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian Electoral Division in Queensland. Glen Sheil
Glenister Fermoy Sheil (21 October 192929 September 2008) was an Australian politician, representing the National Party in the Senate for the state of Queensland from 1974 to 1981, and again from 1984–90. He was an amateur tennis player who competed at the Australian Championships in the 1940s and 1950s. Early life Sheil was born in Sydney on 21 October 1929. He was the second of five children born to Agnes May (née Browne) and William Glenister Sheil. His father was a civil engineer who worked in several states and was appointed general manager of Queensland's Mount Morgan Mine in 1950. He was the Country Party candidate at the 1967 Capricornia by-election.
