Paval Navara (; 17 September 1927–24 May 1983), also romanised as ''Paul Navara'', was a Belarusian émigré public figure and co-founder of the Anglo-Belarusian Society.Гардзіенка, Наталля (2010). Early years Paval Navara was born on 17 September 1927 in Western Belarus, then part of the Second Polish Republic. After secondary school he studied at a teachers college in Novogrudok, Navahrudak. In 1944 at the age of 16, Navara was mobilized into the Nazi army (which occupied Navahrudak at the time) and sent to France where he surrendered to the Allies. Paval Sieviaryniec (, born December 30, 1976) is a Belarusian journalist and Christian democratic politician and youth leader and one of the founders of the Young Front. Since June 7, 2020 he is under arrest. Amnesty International considers him a prisoner of conscience. On May 25, 2021, he was sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of organizing mass unrest. Biography Paval Sieviaryniec was born in Orsha, Vitebsk Region into a family of a journalist Kastuś Sieviaryniec and a school teacher Tacciana Sieviaryniec. In 1994, he graduated from school with a gold medal. In 2000 he graduated from the Geography faculty of the Belarusian State University. From 1994 till 1999 he worked as journalist for several state and commercial newspapers. Since 1998 Paval Sieviaryniec became known for his essays and his work as a publicist. Paval Zhauryd
Paval Yakaulevich Zhauryd (, , 13 June 1889 in Žaǔryd – 11 May 1939) was a Belarusian military commander. Zhauryd was born in the village of Cieciarouka in the Slutsky Uyezd and graduated from the Slutsk Gymnasium in 1909. As a student at the gymnasium, Zhauryd created a Belarusian separatist club with his classmates. After graduation, he studied at the law faculty of the Warsaw University. He was mobilised into the Russian Imperial Army in 1916, during the First World War. After military training in Poltava, Paval Zhauryd was sent to Turkestan and later to the Romanian Front. After the Russian February Revolution, Paval Zhauryd was elected as his regiment's committee president. He was a delegate at the First All-Belarusian Congress in December 1917, where preparations for the declaration of independence of the Belarusian People's Republic had been initiated.
