Parvarish (1977 Film)
''Parvarish'' () is a 1977 Hindi-language crime drama film directed by Manmohan Desai, starring Shammi Kapoor, with Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna as two brothers playing oneupmanship, and Neetu Singh and Shabana Azmi as their love interests. The latter four had previously starred, earlier that same year, in Desai's own '' Amar Akbar Anthony'', the highest-grossing film of the year. Amjad Khan and Kader Khan play the villains. The film also marked Kapoor's full entry into character roles (after his own production '' Manoranjan''), which he would lead in for nearly the next two decades. Laxmikant Pyarelal gave the music to this film and Majrooh Sultanpuri the lyrics. Manmohan Desai
Manmohan Desai (26 February 1937 – 1 March 1994) was an Indian film producer and director. He was one of the most successful filmmakers of the 70s and 80s. Desai was an influential and sought-after film director of Bollywood and a pioneer of making masala film, Masala films along with Prakash Mehra and Nasir Hussain. Family background Manmohan Desai was of Gujarati people, Gujarati ancestry. His father, Kikubhai Desai, was an Indian film producer and owner of Paramount Studios (later Filmalaya) from 1931 to 1941. His productions, mainly stunt films, included ''Circus Queen'', ''Golden Gang'', and ''Sheikh Challi''. Yusuf Khan (actor)
Yusuff Abousher (Egypt, ? - Hyderabad, 1985) was an Egyptian actor based in India who worked in Hindi, Hindi-language films. Although Khan acted in 35 films and remained popular as a rather sympathetic villain through the 1970s and 1980s with films like ''Muqaddar Ka Sikandar'' (1978) and ''Disco Dancer'' (1982), he is best remembered for his role as Zebisko, Parveen Babi's bodyguard in Manmohan Desai's film ''Amar Akbar Anthony'' (1977). Yusuf Khan was born in Egypt as Yousuff Abousher. He came to Bombay, India, and became a Bollywood actor in the late 1960s. Thomas Beach Alter (22 June 1950 – 29 September 2017) was an Indian actor. He was best known for his works in Hindi cinema, and Indian theatre. In 2008, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Early life Born in Mussoorie in present-day Uttarakhand, Alter was the son of American Presbyterian missionaries of English, Scottish and Swiss German ancestry and lived for years in Mumbai and the Himalayan hill station of Landour. Chand Usmani
Chand Usmani (3 January 1933 – 26 November 1989) was an Indian actress in Hindi films from the 1950s to the late 1980s. She won the 1971 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. ''Chacha Bhatija'' () is a 1977 Indian Bollywood comedy drama film, written by Salim–Javed and directed by Manmohan Desai.
