Pallidogramme
''Pallidogramme'' is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Graphidaceae. It has 8 species of corticolous lichen, corticolous (bark-dwelling), crustose lichens. Taxonomy ''Pallidogramme'' was proposed in 2008 by lichenologists Betsy Staiger, Klaus Kalb, and Robert Lücking, as a replacement name for ''Leucogramma'' . The justification for this change originated from the previously established ''Hemithecium'' subgen. ''Leucogramma'' by Staiger in 2002. There was, however, a pre-existing generic name, ''Leucogramma'' , which was based on the same species as Staiger's subgenus, ''Hemithecium chrysenteron''. Both of these names were unusable at the genus level due to their Homonym (biology), homonymy with ''Leucogramma'' a name with unknown taxonomy (biology), taxonomic affinity. As a result, a new name was deemed necessary to avoid confusion and maintain nomenclatural clarity. Description The defining features of genus ''Pallidogramme'' include a crustose lichen, crust-li ...

Graphidaceae
The Graphidaceae are a family of lichens in the order Ostropales. Distribution and ecology The vast majority of Graphidaceae species are restricted to the tropics. Most Graphidaceae species are epiphytic (i.e. they grow only on plants). Genera A recent (2020) estimates places 31 genera and about 990 species in Graphidaceae. The following list indicates the genus name, the taxonomic authority, year of publication, and the number of species: *''Acanthothecis'' – 5 spp. *''Acanthotrema'' – 1 sp. *''Aggregatorygma'' – 1 sp. *''Allographa'' – 183 spp. *''Amazonotrema'' – 1 sp. *'' Ampliotrema'' – 1 sp. *'' Anomalographis'' – 2 spp. *''Anomomorpha'' – 8 spp. *''Astrochapsa'' – 29 spp. *'' Austrotrema'' – 3 spp. *'' Borinquenotrema'' – 1 sp. *'' Byssotrema'' – 1 sp. *''Carbacanthographis'' – 22 spp. *''Chapsa'' – 51 spp. *''Chroodiscus'' – 17 spp. *'' Clandestinotrema'' – 17 spp. *'' Compositrema'' – 4 spp. *'' Corticorygma'' – 1 ...

Platygramme Commutabilis
''Platygramme'' is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Graphidaceae consisting of about 30 species. The genus was circumscribed by Antoine Laurent Apollinaire Fée in 1874. Several features characterise the genus ''Platygramme'': the brown ascospores, an hymenium, and fruiting bodies in which some of the tips of the are and form lamellae (plates). Species , Species Fungorum (as listed in the Catalogue of Life) accepts 27 species of ''Platygramme''. * '' Platygramme arechavaletae'' * ''Platygramme australiensis'' * '' Platygramme coccinea'' * '' Platygramme colubrosa'' * '' Platygramme commutabilis'' * '' Platygramme computata'' * ''Platygramme discurrens'' * '' Platygramme elaeoplaca'' * '' Platygramme elegantula'' * ''Platygramme fuscescens'' – Australia * ''Platygramme hainanensis'' – China * ''Platygramme impudica'' * ''Platygramme kaalensis'' * ''Platygramme lueckingii'' – China * ''Platygramme microspora'' * ''Platygramme muelleri'' * '' ...

Validly Published Name
In botanical nomenclature, a validly published name is a name that meets the requirements in the ''International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants'' for valid publication. Valid publication of a name represents the minimum requirements for a botanical name to exist: terms that appear to be names but have not been validly published are referred to in the ''ICN'' as "designations". A validly published name may not satisfy all the requirements to be '' legitimate''. It is also not necessarily the correct name for a particular taxon and rank. Nevertheless, invalid names (''nomen invalidum'', ''nom. inval.'') are sometimes in use. This may occur when a taxonomist finds and recognises a taxon and thinks of a name, but delays publishing it in an adequate manner. A common reason for this is that a taxonomist intends to write a ''magnum opus'' that provides an overview of the group, rather than a series of small papers. Another reason is that the code of nomenclature chan ...
