Operational Command South
The Operational Command South ( OC South, ) is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in the southern part of Ukraine, which was formed in January 1998 as the Southern Operation Command on the basis of the Odesa Military District and was headquartered in Odesa. From 2005-2013 it was known as the Southern Operation Association. In January 2007 RIA Novosti reported that destruction of ammunition would take place at the 275th artillery ammunition base (275-й артиллерийской базе боеприпасов) near the village of Novobohdanivka, Zaporizhzhia region. Until 2015 Operational Command South covered 9 oblasts and autonomous republics: Odesa, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk oblasts and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Military districts (also called military regions) are formations of a state's armed forces (often of the Army) which are responsible for a certain area of territory. Chornobaivka (, ) is a suburban Village#Ukraine, village in Kherson Raion, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. It is the center of the Municipal council, village council. 79th Airmobile Brigade (Ukraine)
The 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade (; 79 ОДШБр) (A0224) is a formation of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. The paratrooper brigade is based in Mykolaiv. Soldiers from the brigade have served as peacekeepers in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Kosovo, and Sierra Leone. Starting in 2014, the brigade took part in the war in Donbas. The brigade fought in the Second Battle of Donetsk Airport, where it and other Ukrainian military units became known as the "cyborgs" due to their stubborn defense of the Donetsk Airport. Hvardiiske, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Zarichne (), formerly known as Hvardiiske (), is a rural settlement in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine. It is part of Samar Raion. Zarichne is located on the left bank of the Samara River, about upstream from Cherkaske. It belongs to Cherkaske settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: According to the 2001 census, population was 5,199. Zarichne is better known for housing the 25th Airborne Brigade (Ukraine) (since summer of 2002) and originally was established in 1957 as a military base for the 42nd Guards Tank Division. The town was named for the Guards designation of the unit. Until 26 January 2024, Hvardiiske was designated urban-type settlement. The 25th Separate Airborne Brigade "Sicheslav" (; 25 ОПДБр, А1126) is an airborne formation of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. The brigade is the only airborne unit of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces which possesses BMD-1 and BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicles, and is the only unit which can be deployed anywhere by parachute, together with armored vehicles, from Il-76MD aircraft. Kremenchuk (; , , also spelt Kremenchug, ) is an industrial city in central Ukraine which stands on the banks of the Dnieper, Dnieper River.
