Moosach (München)
Moosach is the 10th northwestern district of Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It is sectioned in the urban districts Hartmannshofen, Pressestadt and Borstei. It is surrounded by: Feldmoching-Hasenbergl (north), Milbertshofen-Am Hart (east), Neuhausen-Nymphenburg (south), Pasing-Obermenzing (southwest) and Allach-Untermenzing (west). It has a history of 4000 years of human settlement. History and structure An almost uninterrupted chain of prehistoric finds suggests a continuous settlement from 4000 years up to the younger Stone Age. Moosach is thus one of the oldest places around and in Munich. The first documentary mention dates from 4 June 807, and the first church St. Martin was built before 1315. Around 1700 the Röth lime tree, Munich's oldest tree, was planted. The Munich U-Bahn () is an Railway electrification system, electric rail Rapid transit, rapid transit network in Munich, Germany. The Olympia-Einkaufszentrum (OEZ) or Olympia shopping mall is a shopping mall opened in 1972. It is located in the Moosach district of Munich, Germany. The name comes from the simultaneous construction of the adjacent home of the press for the Summer Olympics in 1972. In 1993–94, the shopping centre was extended and modernized by the Munich architects Hans Baumgarten and Curt O. Schaller. Shops The sales area of the OEZ, which belongs to the ECE Project Management, covers 56,000 m2. Dachauer Straße ( Leonrodplatz) The Dachauer Straße is the longest street in Munich with a length of 11.2 km and it received its name since it is the connecting road to Dachau Palace. In the north of Munich, it is part of the ''Bundesstraße 304''. Route The Dachauer Straße begins today as a track-leading street of the tram lines 20 and 21 north of the Bahnhofplatz in the district of Maxvorstadt. Until 1877, the southern part of today's Dachauer Sraße to the height of Marsstraße was still part of the Schützenstraße. Olympiaturm
The Olympic Tower (German: ) in the Olympic Park, Munich has an overall height of and a weight of 52,500 tons. At a height of there is an observation platform as well as an exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Tower. Hochhaus Uptown München
Hochhaus Uptown München () is a skyscraper in the Moosach district of Munich, Germany. The 38-storey tower is the tallest skyscraper in the city. The building's glass facade wraps the structure of the building like a tensioned membrane. Circular ventilation elements in the form of individually opening windows enable natural ventilation and provide a reference to the outside world by making the background noise noticeable even on the upper floors. The tower with is flanked by four seven-storey buildings (approximately each) joined together by a campus that has a transparent roof. A fifth building houses 139 apartments. Landshuter Allee
The Landshuter Allee is an avenue in Munich and through most of its course it is part of the ''Mittlerer Ring'', the Bundesstraße 2 R. It joins ''Donnersbergerbrücke'' at Arnulfstraße in the Neuhausen district and runs from Dachauer Straße west of the Olympiapark to Moosacher Straße west of the Olympic village in the Moosach district. The B 2R leaves the intersection-free avenue at the Landshuter Allee and continues on the ''Georg-Brauchle-Ring''. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and officially branded as Munich 1972 (; ), were an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972.
