Mad Dog Morgan
''Mad Dog Morgan'' is a 1976 Australian bushranger film directed by Philippe Mora and starring Dennis Hopper, Jack Thompson and David Gulpilil. It is based upon the life of Dan Morgan. Plot Dan Morgan witnesses the (fictitious) bloody massacre of Chinese on the goldfields and turns into a robber. He is arrested and sent to prison for six years where he is tormented and raped. He is let out on parole and becomes a bushranger, befriending an Aboriginal man, Billy. Morgan fights against the vicious Superintendent Cobham and is eventually killed. Philippe Mora
Philippe Mora (born 1949) is a French Australian film director. Early life and career Philippe Mora was born in Paris, France in 1949, and grew up at the centre of the Australian arts scene of the 1950s and began making films with an 8mm camera his father gave him while he was still a child, and won art prizes as a teenager. He is the eldest son of artist Mirka Mora and her husband, restaurateur and gallery owner Georges Mora. He has two younger brothers: William Mora (b. 1953), an art dealer, and Tiriel Mora (b. 1958), an Australian actor. From an early age, the Moras' family life placed Philippe at a focal point of the Australian arts scene. His mother Mirka Mora was a painter, and his father Georges Mora (a French Resistance fighter during World War II) was a leading art entrepreneur and restaurateur. Gregory Richard "Greg" Apps is an Australian film casting consultant and actor. He cast Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Eric Bana, Sam Worthington, and Hugo Weaving in the roles that brought them to wide public recognition. Bruce Spence (born 17 September 1945) is a New Zealand–Australian actor. Spence has amassed over 100 film and television credits and has also acted in theatre. Grant Page (born 1939) is an Australian stuntman who worked mostly during the seventies and eighties. Page was the stunt coordinator for the popular Australian action movies '' The Man from Hong Kong'' (1975) and ''Mad Max'' (1979), as well as other Australian and overseas films including the cult horror flick '' Death Ship'' (1980). He starred in the 1970s Australian TV series ''Danger Freaks'', which, while ostensibly a documentary of his professional work with various stunt performers, emphasized the spectacular visual results from these collaborations. Norman James Kaye (17 January 1927 – 28 May 2007) was an Australian actor and musician. He was best known for his roles in the films of director Paul Cox. Gerald Joseph Duggan (10 July 191027 March 1992) was an Irish-born Australian character actor who appeared in many well-known films. He was also a stage and television actor. He never achieved stardom, but was a familiar face in small roles in film and television. His trademarks were his Irish brogue, pronounced lisp and prominent jaw.
