Lemon
The lemon (''Citrus'' × ''limon'') is a species of small evergreen tree in the ''Citrus'' genus of the flowering plant family Rutaceae. A true lemon is a hybrid of the citron and the bitter orange. Its origins are uncertain, but some evidence suggests lemons originated during the 1st millennium BC in what is now northeastern India. Some other citrus fruits are called ''lemon''. The yellow fruit of the lemon tree is used throughout the world, primarily for its juice. The pulp and rind are used in cooking and baking. The juice of the lemon is about 5–6% citric acid, giving it a sour taste. This makes it a key ingredient in drinks and foods such as lemonade and lemon meringue pie. Donald Limon
Sir Donald William Limon, KCB (29 October 1932 – 26 July 2012) was a British public servant who served as Clerk of the House of Commons from 1994 to 1997. Early life Limon was born on 29 October 1932 in Hartlepool to Arthur Limon, the borough treasurer of West Hartlepool, and Dora Limon. He was educated at the Chorister School, Durham, an independent preparatory school adjacent to Durham Cathedral, and then from 1946 to 1950 at Durham School, then an all-boys private school in Durham. A keen cricketer, he played for the school first elevens and was captain of his house team. He was Head of House, the Caffinites, in his final year. On leaving school, Limon undertook National Service at the Royal Army Service Corps brigade headquarters in the Republic of Korea. Mordechai Limon
Mordechai Limon (; January 3, 1924 – May 15, 2009) was the fourth commander of the Israeli navy, serving from December 14, 1950, until July 1, 1954. Limon was born in Baranovichi and made ''aliyah'' to Mandatory Palestine in 1932. He grew up in Tel Aviv and joined the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. During World War II, Limon joined the Palmach, and served in Palyam. After the war, Limon captained at least one vessel transporting Jews that wanted to emigrate from Europe to Mandatory Palestine from Sète, a harbor city close to Marseille, France; one reported crossing carried Shraga Weil and Eli Reismann, then members of Hashomer Hatzair. Monique Limón (born October 30, 1979) is an American politician serving as a member of the California State Senate. She is a member of the Democratic Party representing the 21st Senate District, which encompasses all of Santa Barbara County and over half of Ventura County. Early life and education Limón was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, the daughter of immigrants from Mexico. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Arts from Columbia University. (LREM) who served as a member the National Assembly from 2017 to 2022, representing the 7th constituency of the Isère department. Early career Before entering politics, Limon worked as a specialist at schools for troubled teens. Political career Limon served as the deputy mayor for the Bressieux commune as an independent. She had planned on competing for the 2017 French parliamentary election with the Socialist Party (PS), but instead decided to join En Marche! Michele Limon is an Italian research scientist at the University of Pennsylvania. Limon studied physics at the Università degli Studi di Milano in Milan, Italy and completed his post-doctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been conducting research for more than 30 years and has experience in the design of ground, balloon and space-based instrumentation. His academic specialties include Astrophysics, Cosmology, Instrumentation Development, and Cryogenics. Martin Limón (born November 21, 1948) is an American writer of mystery fiction. He is the author of fourteen books in the Sueño and Bascom series, including ''Jade Lady Burning'' and the short story collection ''Nightmare Range'', inspired by his time in Korea. Biography Limón retired from military service after twenty years in the United States Army, including ten years in South Korea in five tours starting 1968. María Limón, born María de Socorro Limón Castro, is a Chicana writer, poet, and activist based in Austin, Texas. As a self-identified queer Tejana, Limón's writing focuses on the queer Latino experience in the Southwestern United States. Life and career Though Limón has been writing since 1985, she has been employed in the fields of domestic violence and public health for over three decades. As a member of allgo, an Austin-based queer Latino organization, she worked to assist other queer people of color overcome the oppression they encountered daily. José Arcadio Limón (January 12, 1908 – December 2, 1972) was a dancer and choreographer from Mexico and who developed what is now known as 'Limón technique'. In the 1940s, he founded the José Limón Dance Company (now the Limón Dance Company), and in 1968 he created the José Limón Foundation to carry on his work. In his choreography, Limón spoke to the complexities of human life as experienced through the body.
