Klas Eriksson (actor)
Klas Eriksson (born 30 July 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Eriksson was born in Växjö and turned professional in 1991 having won the European Amateur and the French Amateur Stoke Play Championship the previous year. He finished 45th on the Order of Merit in his rookie season, but injuries and putting problems meant he failed to retain his card at the end of the 1998 season and he was back on the Challenge Tour in 1999. Eriksson graduated from the Challenge Tour for a second time in 2001 by finishing 7th on the Rankings having won for the fourth time on the tour at the Talma Finnish Challenge. He maintained his playing status on the European Tour for four seasons before again returning to the Challenge Tour. In 2008 he won his fifth Challenge Tour title at the Trophée du Golf Club de Genève as he secured promotion to the top level for the third time. 1990 Eisenhower Trophy
The 1990 Eisenhower Trophy took place 25 to 28 October at the Christchurch Golf Club near Christchurch, New Zealand. It was the 17th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 33 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. Sweden won the Eisenhower Trophy for the first time, finishing 13 strokes ahead of the joint silver medalists, New Zealand and United States with Canada, France and Japan tied for fourth place. Mathias Grönberg had the lowest individual score, 2-under-par 286, six strokes better than fellow-Swede Gabriel Hjertstedt. Teams 33 teams contested the event. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958 Eisenhower Trophy, 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. Thomas Nørret
Thomas Nørret (born 17 February 1974) is a Danish professional golfer. Career Nørret became a professional golfer in 1999 at the relatively late age of 25, after he had spent time studying in both Denmark and the United States. He immediately joined the second-tier Challenge Tour and found instant success, posting two runners-up finishes in his debut season and finishing 25th in the final standings, just outside the automatic qualifiers for the European Tour. Nørret became a Challenge Tour regular over the following seasons, claiming his first win in 2002 at the Volvo Finnish Open after a six-month break, but never improved on his 1999 performance, and in 2009 he took a break from tournament golf to manage young players, returning only for a few events in 2006 and 2009. Alexandre Rocha
Alexandre Nardy Rocha (born 21 November 1977) is a Brazilian professional golfer. Rocha was born in São Paulo. He had a successful collegiate career in the United States, where he attended Mississippi State University, before turning professional in 2000. He won tournaments in South America and Canada before qualifying for the European Tour at the end of 2005. He did not win enough money during his rookie season to retain his playing status and returned to qualifying school where he was the joint winner alongside Carlos Rodiles. Having lost his card on the European Tour again at the end of the 2009 season, Rocha qualified for the Asian Tour for 2010. In 2010, Rocha became the second Brazilian (after Jaime Gonzalez, who played on the PGA Tour up until 1982) to join the PGA Tour when he graduated from Qualifying School. Wil Besseling
Wil Besseling (born 9 December 1985) is a Dutch professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Besseling was born in Utrecht. He won the Dutch Amateur Match Play Championship in 2001, just two years after taking up the sport. The highlight of his amateur career came in 2006, when he won the Eisenhower Trophy in partnership with Joost Luiten and Tim Sluiter, and also finished with the lowest individual score. Professional career In 2006, Besseling turned pro. He played on the EPD Tour, one of the developmental golf tours based in Europe, during 2007.
